'The Kids Are All Right's' Eddie Hassell's Girlfriend Mourns His Death with Heartbreaking Note

On Sunday, November 1, 2020, actor Eddie Hassell sadly passed away at the age of 30. His girlfriend has since mourned his death by taking to social media with some heartfelt messages.

“Surface” actor Eddie Hassell was shot in a suspected carjacking just before 2 a.m. outside his girlfriend's apartment in Texas. The star was fatally shot in the stomach in Grand Prairie, Texas.

His girlfriend, Elizabeth Martian, was actually inside the home at the time but she didn’t see the shooter. According to the actor’s representative who spoke to “Variety,” it seems he was shot when the carjacking went wrong.

Martin, a makeup artist, has since taken to social media to pay tribute to her late boyfriend on the day of his death. On Instagram, she shared several images of herself with Hassell, and in the first one, they were seen embracing while standing in front of a vehicle.

The second photo showed the late star posing with his girlfriend and other people at a “Bomb City” event. The third image showed the couple standing next to each other while holding some guns.

The last image that Martin shared was of a target practice shot outside. In the caption of the post, she wrote a touching note to her late boyfriend revealing what he’d meant to her, stating:

“You were dearer to me than all the bats in all the caves in the world, @eddie_hassell.”

Martin also confessed that she loved Hassell much more than the sky in Texas. She lovingly admitted that he’d made her angrier than anyone else she’d ever met but that she’d loved all of him for it.

A motive behind the shooting hasn’t been found yet and police officers haven’t arrested anyone in connection with the shooting.

The makeup artist concluded her post by wishing him a peaceful rest and noted how he’d always be in her heart. Showing how she wasn’t done mourning him, she also posted a second Instagram post on the same day.

In her second post, Martin uploaded a photo of the late actor, who was best known for his role in the Oscar Award-nominated 2010 film “The Kids Are All Right,” as he faced the other direction while walking away from the camera. She simply captioned this post writing:

“I’ll see you on the other side of that skate barn in the sky, Cowboy. I’ll always love you.”

Martin was actually an associate producer and the main make-up artist in 2017’s “Bomb City,” which Hassell starred in. A motive behind the shooting hasn’t been found yet and police officers haven’t arrested anyone in connection with the shooting.

“Devious Maids” actor was assisted by neighbors after he was shot and they called emergency services. Hassell passed away in the hospital, but his car was stolen and later recovered by authorities.
