Show host Guthrie's fans and followers were gutted to see the sad news of the weather forecaster's illness and joined her in wishing him good health and a quick recovery.
Roker still had something warming and happy to share with his fans and friends.
Guthrie's touching tribute to her friend came around the time her co-host Hoda Kotb shared her own sweet supportive message to Roker. Kotb, who is the proud mom of two beautiful girls, shared a heart-warming photo of Roker holding her oldest daughter, Haley, when she was born. She captioned:
"Our al. You never miss a milestone.. you've been there for all of our moments... good or painful…"
Kotb also revealed that Roker was present when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and promised him that they would all be there for him too. She reassured him that he had things under control.
Despite the weather forecaster's sickness and the uncertainty surrounding his health, Roker still had something warming and happy to share with his fans and friends.
The 66-year-old returned to Instagram with a video of himself thanking his fans and well-wishers for all their kind words and support. The video began with his typical sunny disposition as he marveled at how beautiful the day looked.
The "Today" weatherman revealed that his prostate cancer surgery was set for a few days after, and he expressed how hopeful he was for a smooth and successful surgery.
As Roker goes through this phase in his life, it warms people's hearts to see how positive he is as they support him and hope for the best. The weather forecasting is never really the same without dear Al Roker.
