Us Weekly: DWTS Pro Gleb Savchenko Is Very Protective of Kids Amid Split with Wife

Following the news of his and wife Elena Samodanova's separation, a source has revealed that the "Dancing With the Stars" pro dancer, Gleb Savchenko, is focused on his kids' protection.

Last week, many fans were shocked by the news that "Dancing With the Stars" pro dancer Gleb Savchenko and his wife of 14 years, Elena Samodanova, had ended their marriage.

The couple tied the knot in 2006 and are parents to two adorable daughters, Olivia, 10, and Zlata, 3. The girls are now Savchenko's sole focus after he and Samodanova's split.

A source told US Weekly that the pro dancer is a hands-on dad and is very protective of his girls. The source further revealed that Savchenko is doing all he can to handle things in the best possible way.

According to the source, Savchenko is doing so because he does not want to give Samodanova any type of leeway for their kids' sake. Samodanova was the first to announce her and Savchenko's split via social media.

She expressed her deepest sadness that their union was coming to an end after 14 years. Savchenko also said in a statement that he and Samodanova, despite parting ways, intend to co-parent their kids and asked for privacy amid their separation.

Savchenko responded to his wife's accusations and addressed the rumors he was dating "DWTS" contestant Chrishell Stause.

In an exclusive chat with People, after announcing her and Savchenko's split, Samodanova accused him of ongoing infidelity, saying she decided enough is enough after over a decade of marriage and multiple affairs.

Samodanova, a choreographer on "So You Think You Can Dance," said she and her husband created multiple businesses and a family during their marriage, but it was not enough to keep them together. She revealed:

"Gleb's ongoing infidelity and a recent inappropriate relationship has created turmoil in our marriage and absolutely torn our family apart."

She also claimed her husband is seeing another woman presently and said no wife should ever condone another woman gifting their husband expensive presents, taking him out to dinner, and seducing him.

Samodanova added that she has had enough and could no longer turn her head away. She also said her trust in Savchenko was broken beyond repair and that it was time for her to walk away, find healing, and be the best version of herself for her daughters' sake.

Meanwhile, Savchenko responded to his wife's accusations and addressed the rumors that he was dating DWTS contestant Chrishell Stause. According to him, he and Stause's relationship is strictly platonic and it is not why he and his wife were splitting.
