Prince Adekunle "Kunle" Adebayo Omilana, who married Princess Keisha Omilana, recalled the first time they met in a New York City restaurant 16 years ago. She initially had no idea that he was a real prince.

The love story between Prince Kunle and Princess Keisha of Nigeria was straight out of a modern fairy tale. Kunle shared that he went to New York City for a business trip and did not expect that love would come to him.

In an unexpected turn of events, Kunle’s business trip was interrupted when he found Keisha, who was on her way for a model casting, standing outside of a hotel he was in.

KUNLE'S DREAM GIRL

As his eyes were fixed on Keisha, Kunle left his meeting and went outside to ask for her number, which turned out to be a successful move. For their first date, he rented out his favorite Brazilian restaurant.

He did not mind the expensive cost of renting the whole place as long as he could be with Keisha, his dream girl. He fixed the place to look romantic as if he was about to propose marriage.

Keisha was stunned when she arrived at the restaurant, where she accidentally knocked things off the table. Kunle’s gesture overwhelmed her.

KEISHA'S DISCOVERY AND MARRIAGE

As soon as they started dating, Kunle still did not reveal to Keisha his real identity. The California-native only discovered two years later that the man she was dating was an actual prince.

When she met Kunle’s mother, the latter addressed her as “my princess.” Kunle’s mother told Keisha that her son came from a royal family. She said:

"But then we sat down and she told me the story of who her son was, what his name means, where he comes from, and I was just like 'oh my goodness.’"

A month after Kunle proposed, the pair tied the knot in January 2006 in New York City with only 20 guests. Keisha kept her dream job as a model after her royal wedding.

The royal pair is now a family of four, as they have two children - Prince Adediran "Diran" King Omilana, 13, and Princess Adediora "Dior" Isabella Nicole Omilana, 6.

Keisha is one of the modern princesses who prove that even though they married a royal, they can still work to pursue the things they are passionate about.

THE WORKING ROYAL

Besides doing philanthropy work, Keisha launched a haircare business for families with mixed-race children in June 2017, called "A Crown of Curls," to show parents the right way of taking care of their children's hair.

Aside from her business, Keisha also handled another business with Kunle. The royal pair manages the Wonderful-TV, a Christian network that reaches over 100 million households across Europe.

It was not only Nigerian royalty who is passionate about showing good quality shows on the Wonderful-TV network. Meghan Markle, the latest British royal of African-American descent, made a similar move in September.

She and Prince Harry reportedly signed a multi-year deal with the popular streaming giant, Netflix. The couple's production company promised to make "inspirational family" content for the online platform.
