IMMORTALIZING HER MEMORY IN PICTURES
Along with her message, Johnson posted two pictures of herself with her grandmother, her daughter Reginae Carter, 22, and two-year-old daughter Reign Ryan Rushing.
In the first picture, the 37-year-old TV show personality who beamed with a smile leaned beside her grandmother in a denim polo shirt while her two children sat below them.
In the second snap, Reign sat on her great-grandmother’s lap while in a cute shirt and tutu dress. The little girl looked adorable with blue ribbons on each side of her hair.
ANOTHER LOSS IN THE FAMILY
Though she did not reveal her grandmother’s name online, Johnson’s immense love for the family matriarch is visible and true. Many fans expressed their heartfelt condolences to Johnson’s family.
This is not the first time the reality star lost a member of the family. In November 2016, Johnson’s godmother "Nanny" whom she considered her sister, passed away due to cancer.
Despite the tough times, the indestructible mother-daughter bond has remained strong over the years.
HER SIBLINGS' TRAGIC DEATH
Before her godmother’s death, Johnson’s brothers, Ryan "Rudy" Johnson and Joshua "Fish" Johnson were found dead inside a car in New Orleans in July 2016. The siblings were reportedly involved in a shooting incident.
Johnson was hosting a party at Baton Rouge, Louisiana, unaware of the situation. The police at that time had yet to identify the person behind Ryan and Joshua’s deaths.
The reality star, who learned about the shooting incident through her sister-in-law, was devastated over her siblings’ deaths. It was the "worst news" she had ever received.
HER SUPPORT SYSTEM
With the tragic deaths that happened in her family, Johnson makes sure she gets to spend a lot of quality with the people she loves. For her, it is the only way to move on from a terrible loss.
She is grateful that Reginae, her daughter, whom she shares with rapper Lil Wayne, supports her in all the things she does for the family. Many fans admire the duo's closeness.
The pair has been on top of their game in growing their multiple businesses as a way to continue the family's generational wealth. Despite the tough times, the indestructible mother-daughter bond has remained strong over the years.
In October, award-winning actor Jamie Foxx also mourned the death of his beloved sister, DeOndra Dixon. Foxx took to Instagram to express his sadness and wrote that his pain was "unbelievable."
It was through Dixon that Foxx learned many life lessons, so her death was excruciating for him. His sister, named the Global Down Syndrome Foundation Ambassador in 2011, has been the actor’s "bright light."
