'Home Improvement' Star Patricia Richardson Looks Barely Recognizable with This New Hairstyle
The witty “Home Improvement” lead actress, Patricia Richardson, has shocked fans after sharing her “new COVID fashion” hairstyle.
'Home Improvement' star, Patricia Richardson, 69, stunned fans when she posted a selfie during the lockdown in October. The picture showed Richardson in a comfortable t-shirt with her gray hair pulled back at the sides.
Richardson spoke to Entertainment Tonight about her time on the 90's hit show. Richardson played Jill Taylor in the award-winning sitcom from 1991-1999 opposite Tim Allen.

While fans loved the hairstyle, the actress looked almost unrecognizable from her on-screen appearance. She was seen sporting a gray grow-out at the top with remnants of brown at the tips.
Richardson says she had never heard of Allen before producers approached her with the role.
FANS CONNECT WITH THE NEW LOOK
The pandemic has halted non-essential services during the lockdown and many are left with the struggle of having to maintain their own hair at home, and Richardson's post represents this reality.
During her interview, the star spoke about the overwhelming support she's received from fans of the show. Richardson says fans have always related to her character's life:
OVERCOMING TABLOID SCRUTINY
In the interview, Richardson also opened up about the challenges throughout her time on the show. While Americans resonated with the show's storyline, Richardson faced tabloid scrutiny for her appearance.
While the show’s producers remained supportive, Richardson said she struggled with weight gain in the early stages of her career on the show. Richardson reveals,
"I was like, 'I am working hard to try to lose the weight,' and they were like, 'We don't care, look like whatever you like, you look real, we don't care.'"
LEAVING THE SHOW
While looking back on her time on the show, Richardson shared that her chemistry with her on-screen husband, Tim Allen, was "immediate." However, Richardson says she had never heard of Allen before producers approached her with the role.
Richardson ultimately won the hearts of the nation as a stay at home mother turned career woman. Meanwhile, fans are calling for the actress to come back in a 'Home Improvement' reboot.
