When Maven was merely 10 months old, Morgan met an accident that could have easily taken his life. Speaking about the spine-chilling incident with Essence, he said:
"When I got hit by that Walmart truck…my daughter was only 10 months old. I know I’ve got to be here for her; in the world we’re living in today."
Morgan went on to explain why he thinks a father is the most important part of a daughter's life, saying he is the first relationship she is going to have with a male. He further said:
"Every woman standing here, when a man looks at them, they know that look. They know he wants something. But Daddy is gon’ look at you with loving eyes!"

Sources later reported that Wollover had demanded the sole legal and physical custody of their daughter while Morgan asked for shared custody. Also, her demands reportedly included alimony payments as well as child support.
