The photo, taken by no other than 38-year-old Kate Middleton, has been liked more than 2.4 million times since shared. The image, featuring Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte, marked Prince’s William birthday.
PRINCE LOUIS SECOND BIRTHDAY
The youngest child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Louis, turned two years old on April 23, and Kensington House took to Instagram to celebrate the young royal’s milestone with a set of pictures of him, also by Middleton.
The images showed Louis having a great time as he painted a rainbow on his cheeks, stealing the hearts of more than 1.5 million fans and followers that couldn’t resist hitting on the like button.
PRINCE HARRY AND DUCHESS MEGHAN STEP DOWN
On January 8, starting what was going to be a turbulent year, 36-year-old Prince Harry and 39-year-old Meghan Markle took to their Sussex Royal former Instagram account to announce they were stepping back as senior royal family members.
The image, picturing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex smiling and walking in a beautiful garden, elegantly dressed and holding hands, gathered 1.8 million likes and remains a divisive subject.
THE QUEEN AND PRINCE PHILIP’S ANNIVERSARY
94-year-old Queen Elizabeth II and her royal consort, 99-year-old Prince Philip celebrated their 73rd anniversary of marriage on November 19, and the Royal Family Instagram account marked the occasion with an image of the two.
In the beautifully composed photo, the royal couple is seen reading an anniversary card made by their great-grandchildren, and about to read many more from fans and well-wishers. It has earned more than 800,000 likes since published.
GRANDPA CHARLES
In another heartwarming image shared by the Clarence Royal House Instagram account also on Prince Louis’ second birthday, 72-year-old Prince Charles appears carrying the birthday boy, his grandson, as he hugs him by the neck.
The tender moment, captured in black and white by the lens of Louis’ mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, earned nearly 300,000 likes, becoming one of the top liked images shared by Clarence House this year.
Nearly all of the senior royal family members made it into this list, and if we are missing Duchess Kate Middleton, it is only for the great reason that she just loves to be behind the camera, and she is certainly good at it.
The youngest of all members of the Royal Family, 1-year-old Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor has had a discreet history of appearances in the family’s social media, but a picture of his first birthday was in fact quite popular.
