Peta Murgatroyd and Maks Chmerkovskiy Pose in Sweet Photos with Son and He's Already So Big

Peta Murgatroyd and Maks Chmerkovskiy have shared an adorable Christmas, family photo of themselves with their son, Shai. Peta and Maks went through a break-up as part of their journey to find their way in each other's arms.

Pro dancers, Peta Murgatroyd, and her husband, Maks Chmerkovskiy have followed in the popular trend of sharing family photo's around Christmas time while wearing matching pajamas with their son, Shai.

Murgatroyd shared a series of fun moments including one where Chmerkovskiy is lifting Shai up to reach the top of the tree. Later, Shai peeks in on Santa who is seen sitting in Shai's room.

Murgatroyd has come a long way since her single days when she was put off the idea of sharing such pictures. These images mark the first-ever Christmas card snaps, with her caption:

"It’s funny, when I was single I remember saying “when I become a parent I’m never going to do those stupid, pathetic matching-PJ ridiculous photoshoots!”

She went on to say she was proud of the end result. And so she should be, with the three family members looking picture-perfect in their white and red reindeer pj's, inside their beautiful home with a spectacular Christmas tree.

Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy's love story certainly had some bumps in the road. They met as castmates in Broadway's "Burn The Floor", where Murgatroyd initially wanted nothing to do with Chmerkovskiy, thinking he was conceited.

The couple recently let out that they were thinking about having a second baby.

A few years later, the pair found themselves working together again, this time as Pro dancers on "Dancing With The Stars" (DWTS). Chmerkovskiy was engaged to Karina Smirnoff and Murgatroyd was dating Damien Whitewood.

Following a gradual friendship that developed into a romantic connection before Murgatroyd had her heartbroken by Chmerkoviskiy suddenly breaking up with her, he eventually proposed to her, saying of the occasion:

"I wanted to give her a special moment and make it a special occasion and make it into a lifetime memory."

Being Pro dancers, the two decided early on that their first dance was not going to be a performance, but rather something elegant and simple.

The couple wed on July 8, 2017, where Chmerkovskiy's brother, Val stood by as best man. Having not wanted a white dress, Murgatroyd wore an ivory, off the shoulder multi-tiered gown. Her father walked her down the aisle.

Chmerkovskiy surprised his new bride at the reception, by serenading her with his groomsmen serving as back up dancers as he performed.

It might not be too long before Shai is joined by a younger sibling, with the couple having recently let out that they were thinking about having a second baby.

Although the pair had a rocky start to their love story, they have built a beautiful family since, with Chmerkovskiy previously saying their journey would make for a good story to tell their kids one day.
