Gillian Anderson Jokingly Introduces New Girlfriend Following Split from 'The Crown' Creator
Gillian Anderson took to Instagram to tease her 1.6 million followers about her new lover. Anderson shared the cutest snapshot holding her new furry girlfriend as she joked.
Gillian Anderson jokingly introduced the new girlfriend following her split from “The Crown” creator. The actress shared a relaxing snapshot of her and her pet dog.
“Meet my new girlfriend Stella,” she captioned her post. The 52-year-old shared her photo while at home in what looked like a random picture of her and Stella.

Anderson posed while laying back on her pink couch as she rested her head on a blue velvet cushion. The “X-Files” star wore a black wool sweater as she cuddled up with her dog.
Anderson went make-up free on her photo, and her blonde hair seemed to be tied back in a no hairdo either. The mom of three shared a slightly smiley face as her circle tattoo showed on her left hand.
The “Johnny English Reborn” star’s fans were instantly in love with her post as they shared how sweet her image is. “Oh my GOD the cutest,” said one user. Another said, “Stella looks adorable.”
Many of her fans admired Stella as they continued to gush over her, "OMG, she is beautiful!! You both are," added another Instagram follower. Others reacted with heart emojis and heart-eyes emojis.
According to Hello Magazine, the pup is named after Anderson's character in the TV series "The Fall" as she plays Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson. Anderson's fans are reportedly pleased about her choice of naming her dog Stella after joking that she is her girlfriend.
The TV actress's happy news comes after reports that she has broken up with her longtime boyfriend, Peter Morgan. Morgan is the creator of "The Crown," he's also her co-worker as she plays Margaret Thatcher in the show's fourth season.
According to the Vulture, Morgan and Anderson were Britain's most glittery couples in the entertainment industry. The pair split after four years of dating.
Their breakup was reportedly amicable and had simply just run its course. Even so, Anderson and Morgan plan on remaining great friends after ending their relationship.
According to the Daily Mail, Anderson and Morgan fell in love back in October 2016, and they never shared a home together. Both individuals have kids from previous relationships.
"The Fall" star reportedly could not stop raving about the series creator to her friends. At the time, she was at a party in New York with Morgan to promote "The Crown," and she was overheard sharing with her friends that she and the 57-year-old were in a relationship.
In January, she disclosed that it would be the end of their relationship if they moved in together as she preferred that they live in separate homes. They also instilled boundaries for their work relationship and despite separating in the end, it seems they managed it quite well.
