'American Idol' Stars Kat Luna & Alex Garrido Get Married — inside Their Intimate Celebration
The new year marks a new beginning for "American Idol" alums Kate Luna and Alex Garrido. The sensational duo recently shared pictures from their beautiful dream wedding on Instagram.
Kat Luna and Alex Garrido rose to fame with their amazing audition as a duet on the 18th season of "American Idol." The pair recently took a vow to make their partnership permanent and shared their big moment on Instagram.
Garrido uploaded a wedding picture taken by People magazine on his page alongside a heartfelt tribute to his bride. The post's caption was filled with words of love and gratitude for Luna, whom he described as his best friend.
The happy bride returned the favor with a heartwarming picture of the pair in their wedding attires on a ranch followed by a sweet message of love, where the 21-year-old expressed her excitement for their union. In her words:
"I cannot believe that I can finally say I married my best friend!"
The couple's photographer, Doltyn Snedden, also shared his love for the newlyweds on Facebook with a series of stunning wedding photos. He stated he was honored to photograph their wedding as he was proud to have them as friends.
Similar to their wedding, the newlywed's engagement was just as special.
Details about the exciting day were disclosed by People magazine, such as the event's location, which was at Cactus Creek Barn in Dickson, Tennessee. Luna gown was designed by Essence, while Garrido wore a black tuxedo from Jos. A. Bank.
The couple's wedding strictly adhered to the COVID safety protocols by having multiple hand sanitizing stations for the guests. However, the private ceremony wasn't because of the pandemic, in Luna's words:
"We already had an intimate wedding idea with a reduced guest list"
The groom made the sentimental occasion more emotional by carrying many Polaroid photos of the couple, tucked safely underneath the cowboy hat he wore on the big day. According to Luna, this was a tradition Garrido took seriously.
Rather than write their vows beforehand, the pair chose to say the words that came from their hearts on that day. The beautiful ceremony was also officiated by Garrido's godfather and uncle, Pastor Frank Lopez.
Similar to their wedding, the newlywed's engagement was just as special. The "American Idol" alums got engaged last year in front of their family and friends after performing an acoustic version of their song "Make Me Make You."
Luna initially believed the proposal was a prank, but she couldn't stop the tears once she knew Garrido was serious. The pair have known they were the perfect match since the day they met and are ecstatic about the next chapter of their lives.
