Grammy-Nominated Producer Sophie Dies at 34 — inside the Circumstances of Her Death
Sophie, a Grammy-nominated producer known for avant-garde pop music, passed away in Athens, Greece. The renowned musician was 34.
The Grammy-nominated musician, whose real name is Sophie Xeon, tragically met an accident while at home in Athens, Greece. Fans and friends mourned Sophie's sudden death.
The artist's record label Transgressive HQ shared on Twitter additional details behind Sophie's death. Earlier, her management shared that the family needs respect as they weep in private.

AN ICON OF LIBERATION
According to the management, Sophie was one of the most influential artists in the music industry for pioneering a unique sound. She was also hailed as the "icon of liberation."
Transgressive HQ tweeted that the Scottish-born musician, who was a spiritual person, climbed up on an elevated area to watch the full moon. But Sophie accidentally slipped and fell which led to her untimely death. The message reads:
"The family thank everyone for their love and support and request privacy at this devastating time."

Sophie, a transgender icon, released her debut single "Nothing More to Say" in 2013. The musician rose to fame in the industry after releasing singles "Bipp" and "Lemonade."
After the first three singles, Sophie debuted "Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides" in 2018. The critically-acclaimed album praised by fellow artists earned a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2019.
Aside from her music, Sophie is vocal about being transgender. In a 2018 interview with Paper Magazine, the artist said that transness is taking control and being aligned with one's soul and spirit.
PAVING A PATH
Coming out as trans was the artist's ultimate reclamation of identity. Sophie shared that people expect more trans artists to invade the industry successfully. Like the straight musicians, the trans artists have gender-bending works of art.
Smith tweeted that Sophie was a true visionary.
REMEMBERING SOPHIE
Besides producing albums, Sophie had a fair share of musical collaborations with music icons such as Madonna. The electro-pop artist also had previous works with singer-songwriter Charli XCS and German artist Kim Petras.
Some popular musicians were left devastated over Sophie's untimely death. Renowned artist Sam Smith recently expressed sadness on Twitter over losing an angel in the form of Sophie.
Smith shared that Sophie was a true visionary. French pop act Héloïse Letissier, also known as Christine and the Queens, described the late musician as a "stellar producer."
Aside from Sophie's, another prominent figure in the music sphere recently died as well. Iconic guitarist and rock legend Eddie Van Halen died at 65 after a battle with cancer.
