Jenna Dewan, the mother of two, recently opened up about what her journey of becoming a new mom again looked like during the pandemic early last year.

The actress's second child, Callum Michael Rebel Kazee, was born on March 6, 2020, only a few days before Los Angeles going into lockdown. This presented some interesting challenges for Dewan.

POST-PARTUM AND THE PANDEMIC

Having been through a rough time after having her first child, Everly, with her ex-husband Channing Tatum back in 2013, Dewan was planning on making better use of her support system the second time around.

The restrictions that came just in time for Dewan's postpartum recovery period prevented all her family and friends from coming around, leaving the new mom to hunker down at home. She commented the following:

“I was in this postpartum-haze bubble, then a week later, everything just shut down. It was new; it was different; it was kind of scary. ”

LET'S GO WITH THE FLOW

The dancer has admitted to practicing the art of letting go, which has made her life a lot easier. The pandemic has pushed her easy-go-lucky outlook to its limits as she has been forced to stay home, with no control over when she can leave.

[Tatum and Dewan's] divorce was only finalized in February 2020, a month before Dewan's child with her new fiancé was born.

The forced break was good for Dewan in that she had time to push the pause button and reflect. Usually a busy-body, the mom had to make peace with her roots being at home for the time being.

DANCING HER WAY THROUGH

Having made her breakthrough in the industry as a dancer, Dewan has kept up her dance moves while staying indoors with her family. The actress wasn't the only one who enjoyed the activity.

Everly and Calum are highly entertained when their mom showcases her dance moves in the kitchen, which keeps things moving and humorous in their house. Dewan elaborated, saying:

"I'm always dancing, even in the kitchen. Callum laughs and smiles when I dance, especially when I give him a good hair whip."

UPS AND DOWNS

Dewan's relationship with Channing Tatum has been in the headlines for a few years. The two got married in 2009 after falling in love on the set of "Step Up" and, after having Everly together, decided to split up in 2018.

Their divorce was only finalized in February 2020, a month before Dewan's child with her new fiancé was born. Despite their turbulent relationship, Tatum and Dewan have 50/50 custody over their daughter and are cordial with one another.

The "Witches of East End" actress started dating Tony award-winning actor Steve Kazee in the same year that her break-up with Tatum was official. The couple is now engaged.

It seems as though no number of challenges or obstacles will disrupt the resilient Dewan's flow. With her positive perspective, there are few struggles that she is unable to overcome.
