Brandy's Look-Alike Daughter Sy'Rai Warms Hearts in Family Photos with Mom on Her Birthday

Iconic singer Brandy recently celebrated her 42nd birthday, and her daughter Sy'rai marked the day with a heartwarming post on her Instagram page. The post featured cool throwback pictures of Brandy and her daughter.

Grammy Award-winning singer Brandy Norwood turned 42 years on February 11 and to help her celebrate was her only daughter Sy'rai Smith who took to Instagram to make her mom's day special.

Through several throwback Instagram photos shared on her story, Smith showed off the close relationship she has with her mom dating back from when she was just a baby.

In the first photo, Smith wished Norwood a happy birthday with a heartfelt message under a festive picture of the two women sporting big white smiles. The caption read:

"You are an inspiration to so many little girls and I can't believe I was the luckiest one because I get to call you my mommy every day."

The next post was a throwback photo of young Norwood holding Smith when she was just a baby, followed by more recent pictures of the mother and daughter hanging out in the airy outdoors.

Smith, who looks just like her mother, continued to show special moments spent with the "Piano Man" singer, including a screenshot of a FaceTime call, a car selfie, and pics of the events they attended together.

After sharing the pics of herself and another, Smith also showed snaps of Norwood enjoying herself in a hair store, and another shot of the singer pictured while sitting on a yacht.

Smith also celebrated her mom's enormous talent by sharing a video montage of her performances and a promo of Norwood's 1997 Disney movie "Cinderella" in which she featured alongside the late singer and actress Whitney Houston.

Smith's Instagram tribute to Norwood showcased their close bond, although some fans may be surprised to know that the "Full Mood" singer has a daughter. Smith was kept out of the spotlight for the majority of her childhood.

Norwood admitted that she and her daughter's father felt that it was best for Smith to live a normal life, so when she filmed her reality TV show "Brandy & Ray J: A Family Affair," Smith was seldom featured.

However, Smith has every intention to become a superstar like her mom and uncle, Raymond "Ray J" Norwood. The 18-year-old is also a singer, and she released her first single, "At Your Best," in April 2018.

While the record was inspired by the late Aaliyah Haughton, Smith herself was an inspiration to Norwood, who struggled with depression. The "Moesha" actress credited her daughter for saving her and pulling her out of depression.
