Mike Epps Mourns Death of His Father Tommie — See Their Touching Photo

Mike Epps’s recent Instagram post was a soulful one, bearing a tribute to his dad, Tommie Epps Sr., who recently passed on. Mike referred to his father as a hard worker.

Hollywood star Mike Epps had a solemn Thursday night as he took to Instagram to announce the passing of his dad, Tommie Epps Sr. The sad news came a few weeks after his mom, Mary Reeds passed on.

Mike posted a rare photo of him and his aged dad sharing a warm hug as they posed for the camera. The pair bore similar smiles, and it was not hard to see where the comedian got his good looks from.

The award-winning actor shared a touching tribute to his late father, mentioning that the patriarch was a hard worker who lived his life, creating sweet moments for his loved ones. He captioned:

“Big RIP to my Dad TOMMIE L EPPS SR. Thank you for life and all the great memories and lessons. He was a hard worker, good father… kiss mama for me…”

A few days before Christmas, Mike lost his mom, and also shared the news on Instagram. The “Dolemite is My Name” actor showed an image of him and his mom enjoying a family moment.

Outside his career, Mike is a family man who loves being a girl-dad.

He spared no thoughts, writing about the life she lived in love and care. Mike noted that his mom was a major influence in his life; she always taught him not to give up on love.

Mike’s humble beginnings date back to Indianapolis, where he was born and raised by Mary and Tommie. His mom was a single parent, who worked hard to raise her kids, but not without its trials.

As he grew older, Mike moved with the wrong crowd and soon started selling drugs. After getting arrested, the youngster made the resolution to change his path. After his release, Mike forayed into stand-up comedy.

His resume expanded, and he became known for movies like “The Fighting Temptations,” “The Hangover,” and “Resident Evil: Apocalypse.” All the while, he kept his comic streak alive with successful comedy shows.

Outside his career, Mike is a family man who loves being a girl-dad. The star fathered five daughters from different relationships. His oldest is Bria, who also has a daughter, Skylar.

Mike’s other kids are Moriah and Madison from his first marriage. Makayla is from another of his relationships while he shares little Indiana Rose with his wife and TV producer, Kyra Epps.
