Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather has received backlash from internet users who described him as wasteful. This comes shortly after he revealed that he bought a gold Rolex watch for his infant grandson Kentrell.

Pro boxer Floyd Mayweather recently purchased a gold Rolex watch for his newborn grandson, Kentrell. Given his track record of buying expensive gifts for his kids in the past, this came as no surprise.

However, while this might have seemed like a typical loving grandfather gesture, Mayweather soon came under attack from internet users who had contrary opinions.

Taking to the comments section of a post shared by TheShadeRoom on Instagram, one user described Mayweather's gesture as stupid while another said it was an ignorant move.

A disapproving fan also noted that considering how heavy the wristwatch is, the toddler would end up hurting himself. A fourth Instagram user wrote:

"That's just wasteful."

In an adorable picture, the baby was captured wearing a small diamond-encrusted Rolex watch with Mayweather holding up the jewelry's face as it glistened.

Little Kentrell was born to Mayweather's daughter Yaya and her rapper boyfriend Youngboy NBA in January. True to his family's history with luxury life, the newborn already has his share of expensive gifts.

Despite having different mothers, Mayweather has given his kids the best life.
