Catherine Zeta-Jones Jokes about Michael Douglas' Facial Hair in This Romantic Throwback Photo
Catherine Zeta-Jones posted a throwback snapshot of her beloved husband, Michael Douglas, on social media. Zeta-Jones then hilariously joked about his facial hair.
Welsh Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones shared a throwback snap of her and her spouse, Michael Douglas, on her Instagram account. The 51-year-old could not hold back on pointing out Douglas's facial hair on her post.
Zeta-Jones made a comparison of the 76-year-old actor's facial hair to her brunette locks. At the time, Douglas's beard was tremendously huge and covered most of his upper lip.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote, “When there was more hair on Michael’s face than on my head." To accentuate the humor, she added a laughing emoji in the process.
The photo showed the married couple on the backseat of a car while leaning in for a close-up shot. While glaring at the camera, the pair posed with their heads bumping.
Zeta-Jones showed a slightly smiley face with her hand under her husband’s beard. She wore her brunette hair down with hoop earrings.
Michael, on the other hand, posed wearing a grey blazer. The New Jersey native's long bushy beard matches his hair color, which is grey and gold.
THEIR HOME IN ZETA-JONES' HOMELAND
The pair own a home together in Swansea, Wales, where the "Rock of Ages" actress was born. According to Hello Magazine, the property was built in 2004 for $1.2 million.
Zeta-Jones' parents live at the house, whereas the pair are based in the US. The mansion reportedly has four bedrooms and is complete with three storeys, a grey exposed brick exterior, dormer windows, glass railings, and a massive garage for their cars.
THEIR VALENTINE’S DAY PLANS
Although they have another home outside the country, they decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day in the States. For the occasion, Zeta-Jones reportedly revealed that they would be spending the day indoors.
And although she shared that she would not be cooking, she divulged that her husband of 21 years would be ordering in. At the time, she jokingly disclosed that it is his job to order in all the time.
HOW THEY MET
According to E! Online, the pair met in 1996 at the Deauville film festival in France. In an interview with Larry King, Zeta-Jones reportedly revealed that at the time, she was very nervous after learning that Douglas wanted to see her.
“I was a little nervous because I didn’t quite know what he wanted to see me about, she recalled to King. At the time, they were both promoting their movies, and she first spotted Douglas in her hotel lobby, who happened to have walked right past her.
Later that evening, two of their mutual friends then-couple Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith, introduced the two actors at a private dinner.
TIMELINE OF THEIR RELATIONSHIP
Nine months after they met, they began to assess their connection and realized that they need to make things exclusive. With their 25-year-age gap difference, Douglas proposed to Zeta-Jones in 1999.
The couple then walked down the aisle one year later. In November 1998, Douglas confirmed the news that the “Dad’s Army” actress was expecting their first child.
Zeta-Jones then gave birth to their first-born Dylan in August 2000. One month after getting married, they skipped their honeymoon to spend time with their then four-month-old son.
Their movie called “Traffic” hit theaters on December 27 of that same year. In March 2001, power couple received The Courage Award while attending a benefit for the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
In April 2003, the couple welcomed their second child, a daughter named Carys. Sadly, in August 2010, Douglas was diagnosed with stage IV throat cancer caused by human papillomavirus (HPV).
However, he became cancer-free in January 2011. In August 2013, the duo separated but reconciled the following year. Last year, they celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in November and took to social media in honor of their love.
