Randy Jackson Feels Simon Cowell's Pain — See the Advice He Gave His 'American Idol' Co-star after Back Injury
Like Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson also experienced severe backaches and went for surgery. Cowell also underwent surgery for his back pain after a bike accident.
Recalling back to that period, Randy Jackson shared how much in pain he was. Jackson opened up about his injury to Entertainment Tonight.
Jackson empathized with his co-star’s ordeal. In the interview, he said, “I also had spine surgery a year and a half or so ago, so it’s funny both he and I are having all these back pains.

COWELL’S BIKE ACCIDENT
As he reflected, he also revealed that Cowell is doing much better. “But he’s doing great. He’s really doing great,” he told the publication.
Cowell reportedly got injured while riding his electric bicycle in August at his home in Malibu and reportedly broke his back in several places. The injury forced him to miss the first half of the most recent season of “America’s Got Talent.”

The 61-year-old then underwent emergency surgery and physical therapy to get onto his feet. Jackson then shared how he usually jokes with him about their age and having gone through this experience.
“I kid him. I’ll say, ‘Look, we’re getting a little bit older, we’re 36 now, internally, but we ain’t 30 no more dawg. We gotta like, respect the body yo!’" he said.
COWELL’S TRIP TO BARBADOS
Four months after his recovery, Cowell reportedly hopped into a plane to Barbados and went shirtless, showing off his scar. The English native was spotted with his partner Lauren Silverman aboard a yacht in Bridgetown, Barbados, on December 30.
Friends and family also joined Cowell on the trip as he rocked white shorts and blue-tinted aviator sunglasses. Silverman wore a white striped one-piece black bathing suit behind her significant other.
COWELL’S UPCOMING GIG
It appears that her partner is not slowing down since his recovery as he has gigs already lined up for him. Cowell will star as a judge on “The X-Factor Israel.”
Despite Jackson's advice to go easy on his body, it appears that Cowell would rather keep busy. Since his recovery, he has thrown himself into new activities.
JACKSON’S WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY
Meanwhile, the 64-year-old bassist heeded his own advice and reflected on a period where he weighed 358 pounds. Jackson decided to take charge of his health, he spoke to guest host Tiffany Haddish on “The Ellen DeGeneres” show about his weight loss.
In the early 2000s, the “Name That Tune” star committed to a healthier lifestyle and lost 100 pounds. During the interview, Jackson revealed that he has a gastric bypass and started Unify Health Labs.
"I had a food divorce, is what I usually say. I had to let it all go and start over," the singer told Haddish. Jackson said that he decided to get better in shape in the early days of "American Idol."
He added that he had to stop emotional eating because he was trying to get healthy. Jackson also divulged that he developed Type 2 Diabetes and that he is happy that he decided to live a healthy lifestyle, and he is glad that it inspires other people.
