Ricki Lake Shares Details on Her Recent Engagement to Fiancé Ross Burnigham — See Her Story

Ricki Lake's engagement to Ross Burningham was not a traditional one as she was naked in the jacuzzi in her new Malibu home when he popped the question.

52-year-old Ricki Lake gushed about her engagement to her fiancé Ross Burningham during her interview on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen."

The former talk show host did not hold back any details on how Burningham asked the big question revealing that it wasn't a planned occasion; hence she doesn't have a ring to show yet.

NAKED IN THE JACUZZI

Lake looked ecstatic as she shared about how Burningham proposed to her. The 52-year-old revealed that she wasn't wearing any clothes and was, in fact, naked in the jacuzzi with her fiancé when the engagement happened. She shared:

"I was naked in the jacuzzi with my man on the first night that we're in my new Malibu home. So it was romantic and very spontaneous."

Lake took to social media to announce the upgrade in her relationship status despite the lack of a ring on her finger. The engagement was such a surprise to both of them that Burningham didn't have a ring ready.

BOOTY CALL TO FIANCÉ

Lake also shared how her relationship with Burningham has progressed over the last six months. The film producer has been seeing Burningham since June, but it wasn't serious from the get-go.

Lake revealed that her fiancé started as a booty call that continued for some time before officially dating. Six months in, the "Hairspray" star is now making her way down the aisle for the third time.

The producer didn't wait long to let her fans and followers in on the big news. Lake took to Instagram to share her engagement with the world, posting a happy selfie of her and her fiancé. She captioned the post:

"I'm engaged! This is Ross. He is my person. He is wonderful. I love him very much and I am so grateful I get to love and be loved so deeply."

Lake's relationship with Burningham also carries the approval of her loved ones as they all recognize how good he is for her and that their relationship works well.

THIRD TIME LUCKY

The "Hairspray" alum has been married twice before. Rob Sussman was her first husband, and the two were married from 1994 to 2004. Lake was also married to Christian Evans from 2012 to 2015.

Sadly, Evans died by suicide in 2017 after battling suicide disorder. Lake took to social media to post a tribute to her late ex-husband 4 years after he passed away.

Lake has also had struggles of her own, namely a 30-year battle with hair loss. The producer eventually decided to let go of the hair she held so tightly and shaved her head.

Lake went public about her struggle with female baldness crediting the hair loss to various factors, including the styling and dying that came with the entertainment industry and hormonal imbalances.
