Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his fiancé Brittany Matthews have welcomed their first child but aren't ready to show photos of their daughter just yet.

Patrick Mahomes's fiancé Brittany Matthews took to social media to share an explanation as to why the new parents haven't been posting photos of their newborn daughter.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and Matthews welcomed their first child, Sterling on February 20, 2021, but was only expected to arrive a few days later. The new parents have been soaking up the time with their newborn.

EXPLANATIONS NEEDED

As a fitness influencer, the new mom has a hefty following of people who are all dying to see the first snaps of baby Sterling. Matthews shared an explanation for the absence of photos on her Instagram story saying:

"I know the Internet will instantly take the photos of her and share everywhere so just preparing myself for my newborn baby girl to be shared to the world!"

The 25-year-old shared a sweet photo of Sterling's hand holding her finger on her chest showing her silver "Sterling" necklace together with the brief explanation.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Being engaged to one of the NFL's biggest athletes and being the mother of his child, it is no surprise that Matthews will be in the spotlight as she enters into motherhood.

The couple had a big 2020 with the engagement and pregnancy happening within a month of each other.

The new mom doesn't seem to mind putting up some boundaries and easing her way into parenting in the public eye, ensuring that her family is ready to step out together.

ROAD TO THE AISLE

Mahomes got down on one knee to ask his high school sweetheart the big question in September 2020. The two met as teenagers in high school and kept their relationship going despite the distance when they went to different colleges.

Matthews has been with Mahomes through all the ups and downs of a career as a professional athlete. The two share a home in Kansas City, Missouri. The 25-year-old opened about her fiancé's journey in the NFL sharing:

“It was surreal to see him living his dream and seeing him grow as an athlete and as a man in general was just amazing.”

Matthews evidently also views her soon-to-be husband as more than a football player as she has fearlessly defended him on social media on various occasions, unafraid to say what is on her mind.
