Actor Nicolas Cage Ties the Knot with Girlfriend Riko Shibata in Intimate Ceremony

Nicolas Cage, one of the most well-known faces in Hollywood and star of hit movies such as "Gone in 60 Seconds," "Ghost Rider" and "National Treasure," has tied the knot for the 5th time.

It has recently been revealed by the Daily Mail that the actor has exchanged vows with girlfriend Riko Shibata, whom he met in Shinga, Japan, over a year ago.

According to the publication, the wedding was held at the Wynn Casino and Hotel in Los Angeles back in mid-February and was officiated by Reverend Richard E. Walter.

THE CEREMONY

It has been reported that Shibata opted for a three-layered black handmade Japanese Bridal Kimono from Kyoto and let her long dark hair cascade down her shoulders.

Shibata, who is 30 years younger than her now-husband and four years younger than his first son, Weston Cage, carried a bouquet of red and yellow roses in her hands.

As for the 57-year-old movie star, he wore a tuxedo by designer Tom Ford, as well as a yellow rose buttonhole meant to match his wife's beautiful bouquet.

After the wedding, the happy couple walked back to the hotel where they hosted a small celebration attended by Alice Kim, Cage's third wife, with whom he remains friends, and their 15-year-old son Kal-El.

It is believed that Cage and Shibata applied for a wedding license back in January and that the actor proposed to his then-girlfriend through FaceTime, as she was in Kyoto, Japan, at the time.

The actor claimed that he "lacked understanding" of his actions.

A SHORT-LIVED MARRIAGE

As aforementioned, this is the 5th time that Cage says "I do." The 57-year-old has also been married to actress Patricia Arquette, Lisa Marie Presley, Alice Kim and Erika Koike.

The latter was Cage's shortest marriage, as it only lasted four days. The two tied the knot in 2019 at the Clark County Court House Marriage License Bureau in Las Vegas.

According to Cage's annulment request obtained by The Blast, the actor and the make-up artist had been drinking "to the point of intoxication" prior to the ceremony.

The actor also claimed that he "lacked understanding" of his actions, which was why he "reacted on impulse without the ability to recognize or understand the full impact of his actions."
