Hugh Jackman has joined the list of celebrities to applaud Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for coming out with their truth in their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired on CBS on Sunday, March 7.
Yesterday, the actor took to Instagram to share his reaction to the bombshell interview. Wearing a white t-shirt, Jackman explained that he and his wife of almost 25 years, Deborra Lee-Furness, watched the interview with astonishment.

He revealed that he was awed by how a high-profile couple like Harry and Meghan spoke candidly and bravely about the hardest time in their lives while remaining gracious. An excerpt of the caption of the clip read:
“Mental health is not ever to be ignored. When someone is brave enough to ask for help, we must listen.”
Jackman noted that he was impressed and took the opportunity to encourage his fans to pay attention to their mental health.
“The Wolverine” star mentioned that he is a board member of Gotcha 4 Life, an Australian organization that deals with suicide.
After the duchess’ bombshell revelation about her mental health, many celebrities, and influential personalities lauded her strength.
The award-winning star urged his followers never to worry alone and seek help until they find it. In the discussion with Oprah, the duchess opened up about her mental health struggles.
Meghan confessed that she felt suicidal during her time as part of the royal family and had constant thoughts of taking her life. She recalled feeling ashamed to admit her mental struggle to Harry.
Meghan mentioned that before the couple’s January 2019 outing to Royal Albert Hall, she told Harry about her thoughts, and he was skeptical about her joining him on the engagement. However, she told him she couldn’t be alone out of fear.
The soon-to-be mother-of-two said that at the theatre, she found herself weeping whenever the lights went off, advising people always to be kind as no one knows what is happening behind closed doors.
After the duchess’ bombshell revelation about her mental health, many celebrities, and influential personalities lauded her strength. The White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki released a statement commending Meghan.
Psaki wrote that it took courage for anyone to come out with their mental struggles and added that discussing mental health is something President Joe Biden strongly believes and aggressively invests in.
