NASCAR racers Stewart and Jessica Friesen broke the record as the first married couple to compete in the same event and on the same team. The duo is set to participate in the upcoming Camping World Truck Series race.

Proud husband Stewart shared the great news on Twitter with a photo of the press release announcing his wife's debut at the NASCAR national series race, which is set to hold at Bristol Motor Speedway.

The huge milestone would make them the first married couple to participate in the same NASCAR event since 1999 when Elton Sawyer and Patty Moise achieved a similar feat. Jessica celebrated the recognition via a statement that read:

"It's amazing to get an opportunity to compete at this level. I'm looking forward to the experience."

She noted that it was her first time driving a truck and expressed her excitement that the race was happening on dirt. She concluded, thanking everyone that has made such a great dream possible.

Per Fox News, 37-year-old Stewart is a full-time driver in the Truck Series while Jessica does dirt modifieds on the northeast circuit. She will drive a second truck for her husband, making them the first couple to race for the same team.
