'Sister Wives' Star Christine Brown Admits She Doesn't Feel Equal to Husband Kody — Here's Why
Christine Brown revealed that she feels less than her husband, Kody, as her opinions do not matter as much in discussions.
While having a polygamous marriage may seem ideal for the Brown family, there are many more problems that arise from the set-up than a typical union.
“Sister Wives” shows these ups and downs as it follows Kodi Brown and his four wives trying to live their lives. In several episodes and individual interviews, the stars opened up about the reality of their marriage.
NOT AN EQUAL
During a recent interview with Us Weekly, Christine Brown revealed that she feels less than her husband as her opinions don’t seem to matter in discussions. She shared:
“The thing that I struggle with most is when I feel like I don’t have a say or when I feel like I’m not as important or things like that.”
The 48-year-old also noted that she does not feel like Kodi’s equal in the relationship, but as a whole, things are well for the two who share six children, Truely, Ysabel, Gwendlyn, Paedon, Mykelti, Aspyn.
FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE
Meanwhile, in a previous episode of the reality show, Kody opened up about how he felt amid the pandemic. According to the family patriarch, he felt like he was being passed from one wife to another.
Kody first tied the knot with Meri in 1990, after meeting her through a mutual friend.
As opposed to what Christine said, Kody felt like he was under his wives, who were making decisions for him, such as quarantine schedules around their homes in Arizona.

FOUR HOMES WITH DIFFERENT RULES
“They’ve taught me in the polygamous culture [...] that each wife has to conform to my rules in a home and a household,” Kody shared. “That went out the window so long ago. Each mother sort of has her own rules.”
For example, each of his wives has different takes on-screen time for young children. While some believe that it is a privilege to be earned, others do not.
Apart from Kody’s six kids with Christine, he also has another six with Janelle, five with Robyn, and one with Meri, making a total of 18 children.
MEETING THE WIVES
Kody first tied the knot with Meri in 1990, after meeting her through a mutual friend, and had their firstborn, Mariah, fire years later.
In 1993, he married Janelle, whom he first met in 1989. Together they have six children, Savannah, Gabriel, Garrison, Hunter, Maddie, and Logan. The following year, he wed Christine.
Robyn is Kody’s latest wife, married in 2010. They share two biological kids, Solomon and Ariella Mae, and three children from Robyn’s first marriage, Dayton, Aurora, and Breanna.
