The "Glee" cast is set to reunite at the GLAAD Awards to honor their castmate, the late Naya Rivera, this April, the award show shared.
The GLAAD Awards announced on Instagram that the "Glee" cast will reunite for a performance at the award show this April to honor their late castmate, Naya Rivera.
The performance is to honor Rivera and her legacy on the 10th anniversary of her "Glee" character, Santana Lopez, coming out on the show. Her coming out was a big moment during the show.

The character had a large impact on the LGBTQ and Latinx LGBTQ community as Santana was one of the first out queer Latinx characters on national TV, which was an important step for representation of the community.
Demi Lovato, who played Santana's girlfriend on the show in season 5, will be introducing the performance at the award ceremony in April. Lovato shared the new on her Twitter this week:
"I’m honored to join the cast of Glee at the upcoming #GLAADawards to pay tribute to the legacy of Santana Lopez."
Lovato with join cast members such as Kevin McHale, Heather Morris, Alex Newell, Matthew Morrison, Amber Riley, Harry Shum Jr., Becca Tobin, and Jenna Ushkowitz onstage in April.
Unfortunately, some cast members will not be in attendance at the tribute, including "Glee" frontrunner Lea Michel, Dianna Agron, head of the Cheerios, and Chord Overstreet, who joined the cast in season two.
The "Glee" reunion and GLAAD Music Awards will be aired on GLAAD's YouTube Channel at 8:00 pm.
Rivera appeared on all six seasons of the musical TV series from 2009 to 2015. During that time, the show won two awards for outstanding comedy series, but it was nominated six times.
Her castmates mourned her death in July 2020, after she accidentally drowned while on a boat trip with her son at Lake Piru in Ventura County in California. Castmember, Chris Colfer, had this to say about her death:
"Naya leaves behind a void that only Naya herself could fill. To have a friend like her, even briefly, is to be blessed beyond belief. "
Audiences fell in love with Rivera and her Cheerio-New Director character Santana as they watched her perform powerful songs in the show and heard her character's sassy insults to her schoolmates.
After "Glee" ended, like her other castmates, she found other projects. In 2017 she appeared in the movie "Mad Families." Rivera also starred in the TV series "Step Up: High Waters." She also published a book, "Sorry, Not Sorry."
It is lovely that the cast is getting together to honor her legacy. Many fans commented and shared their excitement for the musical TV series reunion and tribute on GLAAD's Instagram post.
The "Glee" reunion and GLAAD Music Awards will be aired on GLAAD's YouTube Channel at 8:00 pm and on Hulu at 10:00 pm on April 8, 2021. It will definitely be worth watching
