In the first season, audiences were introduced to Teresa, young, beautiful, poor, and in love with a bad boy. When her drug-running boyfriend is killed in the drug wars, Teresa has to flee for her life.
To stay alive, she finds herself forced to claw her way to power and become the head of the biggest drug cartel in the West, using her beauty and her ability to seduce as a weapon.

Today, Beltrán is free, but how the fictional Teresa Mendoza will end up is what season five promises to disclose. At the end of season four, Teresa was making deals with the Russian mob and preparing to take over New York.
