CYRUS AND SONG'S LOVE STORY
Cyrus and Song reportedly started dating in 2010 and were first spotted together in public at a party held for Nylon Magazine in May 2011.
In August, only a few months after they were first seen together, rumors started swirling that the couple was expecting their first child. It was, however, only what it was — a rumor.
Speaking on it, Song's mom, Mai, revealed that her daughter was not pregnant, adding that the rumor was upsetting to their family because they did not raise her like that.
By October, the couple made headlines again after Cyrus revealed that he asked Song to marry him, adding that they were both excited to be engaged.
END OF THEIR ROMANCE
While fans waited for news detailing the couple's wedding date, they were soon hit with sad and unexpected news — Song and Cyrus had called off their engagement and relationship.
Culkin has also been very open about his love for Song. The actor once revealed his plan to have a family with the actress.
In June 2012, Cyrus broke the news of their split in a statement, revealing that they decided to go their separate ways a few months before and have chosen to stay focused on their respective careers.
RECONCILIATION RUMOURS
A year after their break up, Cyrus and Song sparked reconciliation rumors when they were spotted renting a movie and grocery shopping in Los Angeles.
The next day, Song and Cyrus were once again seen together at a Sushi restaurant, leading many to believe they were back together. It was, however, not confirmed.
In 2015, the couple again sparked rumors when Song shared a social media post that saw her holding hands with Cyrus. Speaking on the rumors, a source close to the couple noted that Song was very happy with Cyrus despite what people might think of him.
THE AFTERMATH
Even years after calling off their relationship, Cyrus's feelings for Song remained, and the musician made that known in the best way he knows how to — music.
On Valentine's day in 2018, Cyrus released a track and took to his social media to reveal to fans that his ex inspired the new project.
The musician added that he got inspired to write the song when they finally broke up the previous year, meaning they had gotten back at some point.
Cyrus credited Song for inspiring him to write several songs during their time together, adding that she had been a really important part of his life.
The musician added that he will always cherish songs written for her and forever cherish their time together. Cyrus, however, also said that he and Song had both moved on, and he was happy for her.
MOVING ON
When Cyrus mentioned that he was happy for Song in 2018, he was referring to the actress's sizzling romance with "Home Alone" actor Macaulay Culkin.
The pair first sparked news of a romance while on the set of "Changeland" in September 2017. They reportedly went on a double date and were spotted holding hands at the time
Though Song and Culkin have managed to keep their relationship private over the years, this has not stopped them from showing off their love for each other from time to time.
In 2018, Song admitted that their relationship was great, adding that things between her and Culkin were wonderful, and she was happy to be with him.
