See John Legend and Chrissy Teigen's Gorgeous New York City Apartment
Iconic singer John Legend and his beautiful wife, celebrity foodie, and model Chrissy Teigen share a gorgeous three-bedroom New York penthouse.
Celebrity couple John Legend and Chrissy Teigen own a sprawling home in Los Angeles and a gorgeous three-bedroom penthouse in Nolita, in Manhattan. Thanks to their hectic professional lives, the couple frequently flits between the two cities.
The couple bought the apartment on Broome Street in 2016 and had it renovated and decorated by Don Stewart of Desiderata Design, who also created the ambiance for their Los Angeles home.

ALL ABOUT THE WARMTH
Stewart's work for the Legends is best described as "warm." The entire apartment is decorated in dark plummy colors, rich textures, and unexpected touches of gold and bronze. Teigen said:
“This apartment kind of embodies everything that I love. I love dark and rustic, but still very clean and very chic.”

A TOUCH OF GOLD
The Legend's lounge has taupe walls, falls of drapes in a rich aubergine shade, and leather armchairs with a bold, modern design and buckled armrests. Stewart mixed the modern with oriental opulence with a lavish hand to stunning effect.
A gilded Chinese armoire adds a note of glamour and introduces one of the repeated themes in Stewart's creating for the legend: the evening of the dark, somber tones with rich plummy colors and the gleam of gold.

PIANO MAN
In another corner of the lounge, Stewart created an area for Legend's inevitable piano, facing the back wall in rustic, weathered pine and the side walls in coarse, pale stone brick.
A tiny square window illuminates the entire nook, and the vibrant colors of a huge abstract painting hung behind the gleaming, dark, grand piano. Alongside the piano is a comfortable and unpretentious grey armchair.

BATHROOM DELIGHTS
Teigen admitted that she had opted to reduce the size of the originally huge master bathroom to build a large walk-in closet for John. The bathroom may be reduced in size, but it is far from cramped.
Walls are pale, rustic stone, the floor is dark, and the whole bathroom is the foil for a huge footed black enameled bath. The bathroom's somber colors are accented by bronze fixtures that add a touch of opulence.

LUXURIOUS BEDROOM
In the bedroom, Stewart blended simplicity in style with a rich mix of complementary textures and tones, accenting the chocolaty browns and aubergines with a rustic avocado green bedspread.
As a headboard, the Legend's bed has a gorgeous piece of oriental fabric hung on a wall that was faced with more of Stewart's favorite antique, recovered wood for a touch of sophistication.

THE HEART OF THE HOUSE
Everyone who knows Teigen knows she's an enthusiastic and talented cook, so the kitchen is in effect the heart of the house. The kitchen opens into the lounge area and has plenty of cabinets in warm dark wood and a whimsical floral splashboard.
Encouraging friends and family to hang around the kitchen is a set of gorgeous gold designer bar stools. The kitchen is defined by a gleaming metallic island with a large work area.
The warmth of the home is an accurate reflection of Teigen and Legend's 14-year marriage, and their willingness to share their living space mirrors their openness about their personal lives.
The couple, who shares two children, Miles and Luna, who were conceived through IVF, recently revealed the devastating loss of their third child, Jack, through a late-term miscarriage.
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have shared their pain publicly, and the model reached out to women who have suffered the same agony in the hopes of removing the stigma attached to miscarriage.
