LOSING CHANCES
Despite Ipswich Town's disappointing results this year which block their chances of making the playoffs this year, the "Shape of You" singer chooses to invest in the club. His Instagram post caption reads:
"This bloke is the new sponsor of @ipswichtown football club. Do well"
The soccer shirts will sport the titles of Sheeran's albums, namely: “+-=÷x,” along with the word “Tour.” The British singer has signed the sponsorship deal for the 2021-22 season.
LOCAL COMMUNITY
Sheeran, 30, expressed that he is investing in the local community by sponsoring Ipswich Town, something that he is evidently passionate about. He also revealed that he looks forward to watching the games from the stands again.
Following his long hiatus from making music, Sheeran finally released another hit in December last year titled "Afterglow."
Sheeran isn't the only one who had shown interest in supporting the soccer club as his deal follows an American company buying the club for £40 million just a month before he jumped on board.
BIG NEWS
Becoming part of team Ipswich Town is not the only major life change that Sheeran has experienced recently as the four-times Grammy-winner also became a father.
Sheeran's fiancée Cherry Seaborn delivered their firstborn in August last year, and the new dad couldn't keep the exciting news to himself. Sheeran took to social media to share that their family had expanded, saying:
"Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter - Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran."
BIG 30
Sheeran seems to be hitting one big milestone after another, as this year also brought around his 30th birthday. The "A-Team" singer celebrated his third decade on Earth on the 17th of February.
He posted a sweet snap of his pirate-themed birthday cake alongside a throwback picture of him when he was three years old wearing a pirate outfit. Sheeran's taste is constant, if nothing else.
Following his long hiatus from making music, Sheeran finally released another hit in December last year titled "Afterglow." Fans have fingers crossed that he will release his fourth album later this year.
With arithmetic operations as the central theme of his last three albums, there is speculation that Sheeran will finalize the series with a "Subtract" or "Minus" album.
