Demi Lovato, H.E.R. & More Pay Tribute to Icon Elton John at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards
Elton John was honored with a proper tribute from music icons like Demi Lovato, H.E.R, and others after receiving the Icon Award at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
English singer and composer Elton John was honored by some of the biggest names in the music industry at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Thursday.
The likes of Demi Lovato, H.E.R, and Brandi Carlile serenaded the 74-year-old as he celebrated his latest distinction, The iHeartRadio Icon Award. The lovely tribute kicked off with H.E.R taking the stage.

Dressed in a sparkly suit, which was topped off with a pair of shades, the music star began her performance by playing "Bennie and the Jets" on a red piano. A live band backed the 23-year-old.
The icon switched over to a guitar solo to honor the legend. John nodded his head and sang along, filled with evident joy. The event got better as Lovato graced the stage.
She dazzled in a suit and accessorized with a pair of glasses and beautiful silver earrings. while performing "I'm Still Standing." During her performance, the 28-year-old put the microphone to the legend to join her. It was nothing short of amazing.
The Elton John AIDS Foundation was launched in 1992.
Chris Martin was not left out of the show. He gave out a funny yet incredible speech, and iHeartRadio took to their official Twitter page to share it. The tweet read:
"Well, Chris Martin has the jokes tonight for our ICON Award recipient, @eltonofficial 🚀 #iHeartAwards2021"
In an appreciation speech, John was thankful to the broadcasting radio platform for honoring him the way they did. He was also grateful to the musical gurus for their tribute, not forgetting Chris Martin and Lil Nas X.
While speaking, the Icon Award recipient mentioned how radio was important to him and others. He noted that the essence of his shows was to promote young artists because they needed exposure.
A long list of other famous musicians received nominations and won awards. Megan Thee Stallion and Roddy Rich accumulated fifteen nominations while the likes of Ariana Grande, Post Malone received awards.
John's impeccable music career is something to be envied. He has proven time and again to be a pro at what he does. He has bagged eight Grammy Awards. The legend shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. He did a cover of "It's a Sin" earlier this month with Years & Years.
Apart from music, the pianist takes pleasure in giving back to society. With the sole aim of eradicating the stigma that accompanies ending the spread of AIDS through research and advocacy, the Elton John AIDS Foundation was launched in 1992.
The 29th Annual Academic Awards Pre-Party of the foundation took place last month. Dua Lipa, who donned a metallic dress that accentuated her figure, gave an excellent performance. The world can not help but wish John well in his endeavors with his decision to continually help people.
