'Community' Star Yvette Nicole Brown Mourns the Death of Her Mother Fran
Yvette Nicole Brown is dealing with the loss of her mom, Mama Fran, the best way she knows how. The 49-year-old shared the news with fans over the weekend, alongside several touching tributes.
"Community" star Yvette Nicole Brown went public with the death of her mother on Sunday. She took to Twitter to confirm the sad news, writing:
"She was magic. #RIP my tiny wonder. #MamaFran."

In a follow-up tweet, the actress urged fans to take a walk through Mama Fran's life through the years by searching the hashtag #MamaFran. The star also shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, reposting an emotional tribute from her brother. She wrote:
"I am devastated. I don't have the words. Thankfully my big brother does. I didn't share what my family was dealing with because it was too big."
Brown went on to thank fans for all their prayers and goodwill messages since the tragedy hit the family. Her words of thanks were followed by the expansive tribute from her big brother in honor of their mom.
Going further, Brown recounted how her mom always supported her through ups and downs without asking for anything in return.
In another Instagram post, the "Drake & Josh" star shared a series of pictures featuring her and Mama Fran posing for adorable selfies with charming smiles.
Fans joined the emotional outpour, sending heartfelt condolences to the grieving comedian and her family. Many pointed out how glad Mama Fran must have been to have a daughter like Brown.
Several Hollywood stars also mourned with the family. Actress Meredith Salenger extended an arm of support to the icon, offering to be with her through the crisis. She said:
"Oh, Yvette. I'm so sorry for your loss. What a lucky mama she was to have had you as her loving daughter. Hugs upon hugs."
Back in 2018, Brown opened up about the role of her mother in her life, referring to her as her greatest influence. She made the revelation in the wake of her TV mom's 2018 campaign for the size-inclusive fashion brand, Woman Within.
The star gushed about how much she enjoyed spending time with her mother, especially on Mother's Day. Describing her mom, she called her the most giving person she knew.
