An Arizona man has been arrested for the murder of a woman whose body was found stuffed in a duffel bag in a storage unit, and authorities believe the body must have been kept there for a long time.

35-year-old Brett Daniel Puett is facing a series of charges, including second-degree murder, fraudulent schemes, and artifices in the shooting of Debra Lynn Childers, 64. He is also being charged with abandonment and concealment of a dead body.

The 64-year-old deceased was reported missing by her son, who explained he got worried after not hearing from her in months. His alarm prompted authorities to investigate her disappearance.

Police began investigating and discovered that a man who was discovered to be Puett had been withdrawing money from her bank and driving her car around.

Recently, investigators searched two storage units belonging to the deceased and found her body stuffed inside a duffel bag in one storage unit. During a press release, police authorities noted that the body had been there for several months.

Shortly after, authorities found the 35-year-old and took him into custody on Friday, May 28, after he arrived at his house driving Childers' car. The family of the deceased has been notified of her death.

Until his death, he never disclosed any information to his four children about the death of their mother.

According to police reports, Puett and the 64-year-old Childers met last year while they were both living out of their vehicles. It is believed that Childers was killed while she was in a hotel with Puett in November.

Officials have said that they are not looking for any other suspect in the murder after Puett admitted to taking part in it and concealing her body. Their relationship is believed to have been platonic.

In related news, a man killed his wife and hid her decaying body in the cellar while hiding his mistress in his garden. The man, Harry Jarvis, and his mistress Rita Heyster teamed up to conceal the horrific act.

The 47-year-old Carol's cause of the death could not be determined since her body decomposed, but Jarvis claimed she died of a fit, and he buried her at home to be close to her.

Jarvis was convicted of murder and died in prison from a heart attack at 64. Until his death, he never disclosed any information to his four children about the death of their mother.

His children, especially his son Graham, who said he could not forgive his dad, are distraught by their mom's death and find it difficult to understand why their dad would kill her despite her ailing health.
