UNBREAKABLE RELATIONSHIP

Prince Harry and Markle have a new joy in their life, their newborn daughter Lilibet. The royal couple was sure to draw the Queen into their family by honoring her with a special name for their bundle of joy.

Lacey shared that there is a "remarkable bond between Harry and his grandmother," which was once again showcased when he chose to honor the Queen through his daughter.

ALSO A STEPMOTHER

The special relationship that the youngest of Prince Charles' sons shares with Queen Elizabeth was established after the tragic death of Princess Diana in 1997.

According to the spokesperson, if the reigning royal were unhappy about their choice, they would not have used it.

The Queen stepped in as a mother figure in the young boy's life, and as Lacey described it, she “was a sort of stepmother for both Harry and William.”

FIRST INTRODUCTIONS

Although the Sussexes are separated from the Windsor family by an ocean, technology made it possible for the monarch to meet her eleventh great-grandchild and namesake.

It was reported that Queen Elizabeth was introduced to baby Lilibet shortly after her birth on June 4, 2021, via a video call. Naturally, the new parents couldn't wait to share the exciting news that their second child had arrived.

USING THE NAME

Although some royal experts say that Prince Harry was honoring the Queen by naming his daughter after her, others have shared that they think the use of the private nickname for the little girl was disrespectful.

Regardless of what the experts have speculated, a spokesperson for the couple confirmed that the Duke of Sussex had a conversation with his grandmother about the name.

According to the spokesperson, if the reigning royal were unhappy about their choice, they would not have used it. Lilibet is the Queen's nickname, used by close family members after being given to her by her father.

The Queen wasn't the only one honored as the newborn's name is Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor which includes a special nod to the late Princess Diana.
