Alabama Girl, 15, Dies in the Hospital After Being Struck by Lightning While Swimming on a Beach in Georgia
A teenage girl from Alabama passed away in a hospital after a shocking incident. The young girl was struck by lightning while swimming at a beach in Georgia.
A 15-year-old girl died after being struck by lightning in the waters of Georgia. The Tybee Island police department Facebook update revealed that the teenager was Swimming in the waters around Tybee Island before the incident.
According to the police department statement on Facebook, authorities were alerted at about 2:37 PM on Sunday, June 12, 2021. Upon the update, police officials and fire department personnel were dispatched to the scene.

Before authorities got to the accident scene, the victim was pulled out of the beach and received (CPR) cardiopulmonary resuscitation from fire and lifeguard officials.
On hearing that there would be a delay before medical personnel can get to the scene, the police department opted for a helicopter to transport the victim to a nearby hospital.

However, authorities didn't wait for the helicopter's arrival and decided to transfer her with their vehicle. They were met by an ambulance on the highway, and the patient was turned over to emergency medical personnel.

Despite every effort, when emergency personnel made it to the hospital, the girl was pronounced dead. Officers learned that the victim was visiting from Alabama after speaking with her family.
Tybee Island residents were devastated about the sad incident and sympathized with the deceased girl's family. The heartbreaking update also got a lot of viewers on the Internet reacting.

Another 9-year-old boy, Jordan Banks died after being struck by lightning. The kid was playing on a field in Blackpool when the accident occurred. The police and an air ambulance made it to the scene after being notified.
When they finally got the patient to the hospital, he was already dead. The family of the young boy expressed grief over the incident. The deceased boy's football team also honored him with a Facebook post.
