Katharine McPhee & David Foster Celebrate 2nd Anniversary At Indoor Pool with Their Son Rennie

This year has been a great one for some like Katharine McPhee. She welcomed her first child and also celebrated her second marriage anniversary to David Foster.

Katharine McPhee is popularly known for being an actress, singer, and songwriter. She made a name for herself in 2006 after coming second in the popular singing competition, "American Idol."

Recently, McPhee has been busy with other responsibilities besides acting and singing. She and her much older husband, David Foster, welcomed their first child, Rennie David Foster.

MCPHEE AND FOSTER'S SON

In February 2021, McPhee became a mom for the first time when she gave birth to her son, Rennie David Foster. The singer has shared multiple snapshots of their mother-and-son moments on social media.

In fact, just hours ago, McPhee took to Instagram to update her fans with a new picture of her and her son having fun at an indoor pool. The image showed the mother of one clad in a black two-piece and sipping a canned beverage.

Her infant floated in a blue and yellow baby pool with an adorable steering wheel. Behind the duo was a rack of clothing, including beach cover-ups for women and a bright bucket hat. McPhee captioned the post,

"mommy and me."

MCPHEE'S SECOND MARRIAGE ANNIVERSARY

Not only did McPhee share her joy of motherhood with her Instagram followers, but she also celebrated two years of marital bliss yesterday. She received lots of congratulatory messages from her followers on Instagram.

In an interview with US Weekly, Erin revealed her thoughts on her new step-mom.

The couple has been happy since tying the knot on June 28, 2019, at the Church of Saint Yeghiche in London. Their ceremony was held with over 150 guests in attendance.

RELATIONSHIP BEFORE MARRIAGE

The loving couple first met in 2006 when McPhee was a contestant on season five of "American Idol." Foster helped the actress practice Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing" for the top show.

Two years later, Foster was invited as a special guest at McPhee's wedding to Nick Cokas, where he played the piano. However, in 2014, the "Scorpion" actress filed for divorce.

The lovebirds officially started their relationship in 2017 amid dating rumors and got engaged after Foster popped the question during a vacation in Italy in July 2018.

FOSTER AND MCPHEE'S AGE DIFFERENCE

Foster and McPhee have shown that age is just a number when it comes to love. Their marriage has always been a topic of controversy due to their age difference being over thirty years.

In Dr. Berlin's "Informed Pregnancy Podcast," the songwriter spoke up about her perception of the public's opinion about her relationship. McPhee noted she was in love with her love story, and that was what mattered.

Speaking on USA Today, the Canadian-American also shared his thoughts on his relationship with McPhee. He explained that he had a musical connection with his wife.

FOSTER'S PREVIOUS MARRIAGES

Many hope that the lovely marriage between the musicians will last as the 16 time Grammy-award winner has been unsuccessful at marriage four times.

In 1972, Foster got married to his first wife, BJ Cook. The marriage spanned nine years and finally ended in 1981. A year later, the 71-year-old tied the knot with Rebecca Dyer and got divorced in 1986.

Foster and Linda Thompson walked down the aisle in 1991 and finally called it quits in 2005. The musician's fourth marriage was with Yolanda Hadid in 2011 and lasted only six years.

FOSTER'S KIDS

Apart from Rennie, Foster is a doting father to five lovely children— Allison Jones, Amy Skylark, Sara, Erin, and Jordan from his previous relationships and marriages.

The star welcomed Jones in 1970 when he was just 20-years-old. He decided to place her up for adoption but, after ten years, the duo reconnected and have been inseparable.

Born in 1973, Skylark is the musician's daughter with his first wife, Cook. Foster shares Sara and Erin with his second wife, Dyer. The record producer became a father for the fifth time in 1986 after Jordan was born.
