Katharine McPhee is doting on her beloved husband, David Foster, praising him for his excellent parenting skills. The "Scorpion" actress recently opened up about navigating motherhood and how Foster has made the journey easier.

While speaking on the People Magazine podcast "PEOPLE Every Day," McPhee revealed that the iconic Canadian singer was a hands-on father with their 2-month-old son, Rennie David.

McPhee raved about Foster's fatherhood skills, noting that the 71-year-old enjoys being around their son all the time. Explaining to host Janine Rubenstein, she said:

"It's a growing family, and David's doing great. He's always walking into a room saying, 'Where's my baby? Where's our baby? He wants to hold the baby all the time."

The 37-year-old shared that she was looking forward to celebrating her first Mother's Day later this month as a new mom. McPhee revealed that she planned to leave town with friends and enjoy a vacation with her son.

Despite the 34-year age gap between Foster and McPhee, the duo has an incredible love story.

The "America Idol" alum touched on her new Netflix series "Country Comfort" and how it helps her to achieve work-life balance. McPhee explained that filming the show gives her flexibility to spend more time with her growing family.

Fans may recall that McPhee and Foster welcomed baby Rennie in February. The duo shared the great news via a statement, noting that both mother and son were doing well at the delivery time.

Rennie is the sixth child and only son for the "Winter Games" crooner ― Foster has five daughters from previous relationships ― while he is the first and only child for McPhee.

Last month, the doting mother warmed hearts with a lovely photo of her and Rennie rocking matching swimwear. The mother-son duo posed alongside other members of the Foster clan in cloud-patterned wears.

McPhee rocked a simple one-piece while Rennie stole hearts in a trunk. The photos were part of a collaboration for McPhee's stepdaughter Sara Foster's swimwear brand, Summersalt.

Despite the 34-year age gap between Foster and McPhee, the duo has an incredible love story that dates back to 2006. The pair met during season 5 of "American Idol," with the 16-time Grammy winner serving as McPhee's mentor.

However, it wasn't until 2017 that their romance became public when they were seen on a date in Malibu. The lovebirds tied the knot in June 2019 at the church of St. Yeghiche in London, a year after their engagement.
