Before Tre from "Boyz N' the Hood" morphed into the adult role played by Cuba Gooding, the role was first played by Desi Arnez Hines II. Many fans watched the young Hines II feature as a child star.

INSIDE HINES II'S LIFE

Hollywood star Desi Arnez Hines has pretty much grown into a larger frame away from the twinkly-eyed preteen boy many fans saw in classic movies. However, Hines II maintained his boyish smile, which is now more angular with age.

Hines II was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1980. He was a cast member on "Harlem Nights" in 1981, "House Party" in 1990 before bagging his role in "Boyz N' the Hood."

Hines II appeared in the high-grossing crime drama for 20-minutes before morphing into the adult Tre, but the youngster became a known face. However, Hines II's Hollywood career seemed to be short-lived.

After he graduated high school, he enlisted in the army. Hines II graduated from Full Sail University and became a writer for the Screen Actor Guild. He currently writes and directs a web series titled "Staged."

Hines II starred along with many actors who have become A-listers in the industry 30 years later. Hollywood actress Angela Bassett starred as Reva Styles, the mom of Tre.

She acted alongside Laurence Fishburne, who played Jason "Furious" Styles. Bassett and Fishburne have starred in more movies together since then. The star actress has appeared in films like "Mission Impossible" and "Black Panther."

Nia Long played Brandi, the girlfriend of the grown Tre. Fans would further see more of Long in more movies like "The Single Mom Club," "Roxanne Roxanne," and "The Best Man Holiday."

MORE STARS FROM "BOYZ N THE HOOD"

After Ice Cube moved from his music group NWA, he starred as Doughboy in the '90s movie. His Hollywood career continued with films like "Anacondas," "Are We There Yet?" and "Three Kings."

Cuba Gooding Jr.'s role as the grown Tre was one of the most notable roles in "Boyz n the Hood." His career further gained credence with "As Good As It Gets" and "Jerry Maguire," which earned him an Academy Award.

Morris Chestnut played Ricky Baker on "Boyz N' the Hood." Fans continued to see him play roles in movies like "Like Mike," "The Brothers," and "Under Siege 2."

THE CONTINUOUS EFFECT OF "BOYZ N THE HOOD"

The movie directed by John Singleton has continued to resonate in society through decades and word trends. "Boyz N' the Hood," tells of a group of friends who grew up, all from the same neighborhood.

The boys faced issues like poverty, all the while combating social vices like police harassment, gun violence, and racial injustice. Chestnut recently spoke on the enduring relevance of the movie.

He pointed out that the organizers of the classic Hollywood drama had a foresight for talents and were able to gather young gifted actors into the movie. Chestnut added that this is evident because most of the stars of ''Boyz n the Hood'' are still relevant in Hollywood.

The award-winning actor noted that the coming-of-age movie still portrayed the situation in society despite its thirty years. Chestnut commended Singleton, noting that he wrote a timeless script.
