WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY

Sullivan and Napier went through body transformations and had fun showing it off in every image captured of them both. In July 2019, Napier's wife, Erin, shared a shirtless photo of her beloved husband's summer body.

He lost 55 pounds, and his spouse posted a snap of him playing in the pool with their daughter Helen, writing he frequently went to the gym and looked better than ever.

Napier has been dedicated to his fitness journey since January 2018. The 37-year-old woodworker managed to score his slim figure by avoiding carbs and calories and participated in intermittent fasting. He also does a combination of cardio and weight training.

Eight years ago, Napier lost 260 pounds, and it was his lightest weight since college. However, life intervened, and his weight consistently hovered between 290-300.

In an interview with Today Home in January 2019, the “HGTV” star revealed becoming a father inspired him to reassess his weight and worked on shedding it.

BEN’S MOTIVATION

After his daughter Helen, 3, was born in 2018, Napier said things changed for the better. “Bringing Helen home and getting to experience those first few weeks with her and seeing how fast things change with children, it got my attention,” he shared.

“She was different every day, and I want to experience as much of her life as possible. I want a long life so I can be there for Erin and Helen,” he added.

CHRIS’ ROLE

Meanwhile, his dear friend Sullivan also underwent a weight transformation for the series "This Is Us" season 4 for Toby's character

Toby took off his shirt during one of the March 2021 episodes and revealed a low-key six-pack ripped dad-bod. According to Distractify, Sullivan's weight loss journey began way before the character on the show.

On the award-winning series, Sullivan wears a prosthetic fat suit which has landed him on public scrutiny from fans of the show. However, his co-star Chrissy defended him:

“We tested a lot of gentlemen who are bigger, and I get it; people think that that ruins the authenticity."

She explained Sullivan, 40, "has never been heavier, and I think he does understand the plight of being overweight," she continued while adding she believes he was the best man for the job.

BEING A DAD

While being the person for the role, he may also be the best dad in the whole world. "The Knick" star became a father for the first time in July 2020 when he welcomed son Bear Maxwell Sullivan with his wife, Rachel Sullivan.

Being a proud dad, he announced the arrival of their baby boy on Instagram alongside a picture of their child's feet. The couple who wed in 2010 announced their pregnancy news in January that year.

The pair opened up about their latest addition to the family to People, making them a family of four. "While we are excited to have another daughter to love, we are more excited to see the bond she and Helen will have. They're already so in love with each other."

Shortly after welcoming their baby girl, Erin, 35, revealed their bundle of joy received a special shout-out on season 5 of “This Is Us.”

She said their beloved friend Sullivan wrote down ideas for their baby's middle name, and "he snuck Mae (and her middle name!) in an Easter egg to see if they would spot it when they watched the episode.
