Daily Joke: God Created a Companion for Adam and Eve Who Would Be a Reflection of Him

Adam and Eve needed a companion, so God created a loyal pet for them. But after a while, it was observed that they had become proud and thought much of themselves, so a new companion was made for them.

One evening, Adam and Eve said, "Lord, when we were in the garden, you walked with us every day. Now we do not see you anymore. We are lonesome here, and it is difficult for us to remember how much you love us."

And God replied to the couple saying, "I will create a companion for you that will be with you and who will be a reflection of my love for you so that you will love me even when you cannot see me."

"Regardless of how selfish or childish or unlovable you may be," he continued, "this new companion will accept you as you are and will love you as I do, in spite of yourselves."

So God created an animal as a companion for Adam and Eve. The animal was well behaved, and it pleased God. The new animal was glad to be with Adam and Eve and wagged his tail when he saw them.

Adam then called out to God and told him he had named all the animals in the kingdom but had run out of names for his new companion. God explained that the new animal's name would reflect his, so He asked them to call the new animal Dog.

Both Adam, Eve, and Dog were happy to be together, and this pleased God. Adam and Eve were glad to have Dog as their companion, and Dog, in return, would wag his tail for them.

Then one day, an angel approached God to complain that Adam and Eve had grown proud since they had a companion who has shown them love and loyalty. The angel suggested that perhaps Dog was too much of a companion for Adam and Eve.

Then God replied saying, "I will create for them a companion who will be with them and who will see them as they are. The companion will remind them of their limitations, so they will know that they are not always worthy of adoration."

God then created Cat to be a companion to Adam and Eve. Unlike Dog, Cat would not obey Adam and Eve, and whenever they looked into Cat's eyes, they realized they were not supreme beings.

As a result of this experience, they learned humility, and God was pleased as well as Dog. But Cat really couldn't care less either way.
