Actress Kathy Griffin took to her Instagram page on Thursday to share about things that she is battling caused by her cancer diagnoses while being slightly humorous about the flipside of the disease, writing:

"One thing that sucks about cancer, it's hard to focus on anything else when one is experiencing shortness of breath, deep coughing, pain, extreme fatigue &, in my case, vocal cord issues."

THE SURGERY

Griffin underwent surgery for stage 1 lung cancer last month. She released a statement on August 2 revealing that she was having a part of her lung removed despite having "never smoked" before her cancer diagnosis.

The Illinois native said doctors are assured about her recovery because it is still in its early stage and is contained in her left lung, she noted at the time.

THE RECOVERY PROCESS

She added she hopes to not go through radiation nor chemotherapy after the surgery. “I should have normal function with my breathing. I should be up and running around as usual in a month or less,” she said at the time.

That same month, the "Pulp Fiction" star shared on social media that singer Sia visited her and joked that she had been getting help from her "celebrity voice doctor" (referring to the music superstar) to get her “voice back.”

At the time, she was giving fans an update on her vocal progress following the surgery and shared her voice was still hoarse and had been getting vocal exercises.

She and Sia appeared to have been spending some quality time one-on-one together and had fun while doing so. Griffin promised to keep on posting videos of her recovery process.
