Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Visit Son Joaquin at University of Michigan

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have taken a little trip down to Ann Arbor, Michigan during the weekend just so they could spend some time with their youngest son, Joaquin.

The couple took the opportunity to pose for some pictures with the 18-year-old, who is currently studying at the University of Michigan, and later posted the snaps on their Instagram pages.

In one of the pictures, Ripa and Consuelos can be seen in the stands at Michigan Stadium with their son, where they watched the Wolverines beat Rutgers University 20-13.

CARVING HIS OWN PATH

Joaquin also showed his team spirit by sharing a picture of himself wearing Michigan University's official blue singlet, just a few months after he was announced as the new member of the wrestling team.

Ripa knew that the overwhelming emotion that had taken over her was affecting him as well.

Back in March, Joaquin couldn't hide how pumped he was to be a part of the team, adding that he felt honored and excited "to step into this next chapter."

However, while Joaquin seems to be having a blast so far, Ripa claimed during an episode of "Live with Kelly and Ryan" that it was quite hard for her and Consuelos to drop him off at college.

NOT READY

According to the proud mother-of-three, although they have gone through the same experience with son Michael and daughter Lola, "it's one of those things where you can never be ready." She added:

"We've done it before but the other two, they stayed in New York so we knew they were there, even though their visits weren't as frequent as we thought."

The 50-year-old recalled the moment she saw Joaquin walk away after hugging them and saying goodbye, and she called for him and asked him for "one more." Yet, the 18-year-old kept on walking, without ever turning back.

Still, Ripa knew that the overwhelming emotion that had taken over her was affecting him as well, which was why he didn't go back for a second hug.

"ONE MORE"

Ripa explained the special meaning behind "one more." According to her, she used to tuck her children in bed, kiss them and cuddle them before leaving the room.

But she would always come back and say "one more" before doing it all over again, which Michael, Lola, and Joaquin loved, making them squeal and giggle.
