George W. Bush and his wife Laura Bush are grandparents once again after their daughter Barbara Bush recently welcomed her first child with her spouse Craig Coyne.
Barbara Bush and Craig Coyne welcomed their first baby together, a baby girl, on Monday, September 27, the former president and former first lady announced in a statement shared with People that read:
“With full hearts, Laura and I are delighted to announce the birth of our new granddaughter.”

FAMILY-ONLY WEDDING
The statement also disclosed that Barbara welcomed baby Cora near the family home, where she and her actor husband tied the knot in 2018.
According to the BBC, the pair walked down the aisle at the family estate on Walker’s Point the following October in a secret family affair ceremony.
The then-bride described her nuptials as very short and sweet. Barbara, who is named after her grandmother, former First Lady Barbara Bush, was escorted by her father and grandfather, George H W Bush.
The ceremony was held outside overlooking Walker’s Point, where her 94-year-old grandfather resides. Barbara wore a custom wedding gown courtesy of Vera Wang.
GRANDMOTHER’S PASSING
The wedding was officiated by a family member, Dorothy Bush Koch. Barbara and Craig walked down the aisle months after her grandmother passed on in 2018.
The family matriarch died after deciding to discontinue medical treatment for her declining health. At the time, her death was announced by a family spokesperson, Jim McGrath, on Twitter.
The now-deceased decided on the discontinuation because of her heart failure and lung disease but only after consulting with her family and friends.
She was married to her husband for more than 70 years, and she became the matriarch of one of the most influential political families. George Sr. now has Parkinson's disease and is wheelchair-bound.
