Reality star Clare Crawley recently got candid about the past trauma she experienced as a child while attending a Catholic School and how her parents held the priests on a high pedestal.
An clip from the upcoming episode of “Red Table Talk: The Estefans” showed Clare Crawley talking about her traumatic childhood experience of being sexually abused by a Catholic priest.
The series released a sneak peek of the now-40-year-old discussing her previous experience alongside the chat show hosts on Wednesday, September 29.
“I grew up going to a Catholic school, and I was a victim of a predator. My parents held Catholic priests at a pedestal,” the former Bachelorette revealed.
As she recalled the events, hosts Gloria Estefan, Emily Estefan, and Lili Estefan nodded in understanding as Crawley shared it is deep within their roots.
She explained the Catholic school treated her abuser as a counselor, adding, "my parents did the best they could and reached out for the resources they could at the time and sent me to this priest."
Crawley said despite being told that there would be counseling at the school, there was no counseling that took place and that the entire situation was a one-on-one time for the priest to be a predator instead.
The California native has previously spoken frankly about her past struggles and how negatively it has impacted her romantic relationships and mental health.
She called the experience a vicious cycle as she revealed on her Instagram that she spent years in unhealthy relationships because she felt unworthy of the good ones.
In the post, Crawley added the more she chose the wrong men who ill-treated her, the more she convinced herself that she was not good enough.
Just recently, Crawley and the "Bachelorette's" Dale Moss broke up once again. Sources told Page Six that the separation is indefinite this time.
At the time of the first breakup, the two were engaged and had called it off. The insider revealed they parted ways because they could not agree on where to live and how soon they wanted a family. However, they reconciled back in February.
