INSIDE WINBUSH'S LIFE AS A CHILD
Born on February 9, 1990, in Culver City, California, Winbush is best known for her career-defining role as Vanessa Thompkins on the popular television sitcom, "The Bernie Mac Show." She began starring on the show in 2001 when she was 11 years old and featured till it went off the air five years later.
Although Winbush was mainly regarded as a child star at the time, she proved to be much more than that. At the age of 14, the actress showcased her love for business when she opened an ice cream shop called "Baked Ice" in the Los Angeles Suburbs of Pasadena.
Winbush said her mother always advised her to invest the money she got from acting. So, when she was 12 years old, she started thinking about starting a business and decided to sell ice cream and baked cookies.
At 13, the entrepreneur put her thoughts into action. She put together the money she got from acting and also asked her family members to invest. In 2003, she finally opened her ice cream shop, with help and advice from various people.
The "Eraser" actress revealed that her aunt managed the shop, and in a short period, the business yielded a lot of profit. Although Winbush enjoyed seeing her business grow, she noted that it involved a lot of hard work.
The star expressed regrets in reading netizens' comments and urged her fans to desist from negativity.
With the success rate in her business at a young age, Winbush gave out advice to entrepreneurs. She advised them to find a company they would be satisfied with for a long time and strictly commit to it.
LIFE AFTER THE "BERNIE MAC SHOW"
Winbush's love for business didn't hinder her from bagging other roles in movies. After "The Bernie Mac Show" aired, she made appearances in films and TV shows like "Criminal Minds," "NYPD: Blue," "The Secret Life Of An American Teenager" amongst others.
Apart from showing her acting prowess, "The Bernie Mac Show" star was also very involved in the world of gymnastics. In a Twitter post she shared in August, the producer shocked her fans when she revealed she was a competitive gymnast for ten years. Winbush wrote:
"I was a competitive gymnast for 10 yrs. I remember once in practice I hyperextended both knees at the same time during a tumbling pass on the floor..."
WINBUSH MAKES A SURPRISING REVELATION
Winbush's post came several weeks after she left the world in shock. Earlier this year, the actress revealed that she had joined OnlyFans, the member-only site. Because the site is often associated with adult content, the actress received a lot of backlash from the public.
A majority had gotten used to the pure and innocent 11-year-old Winbush, who featured on "The Bernie Mac Show," that joining OnlyFans did not sit right with them. However, the actress cleared the air on her surprising decision.
