Not only is it disheartening to hear that the legend might have been involved in a sexual assault, but what's more surprising is that the lawsuit comes a few months after Cosby was released from prison. Let's take a look at the details of the new revelation.
BILL COSBY FACES SEXUAL ASSAULT LAWSUIT
A few months after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned a landmark criminal conviction against Cosby, another accuser has filed a new lawsuit against him.
Lili Bernard, a former guest star on "The Cosby Show," has alleged that the comedian drugged and abused her in 1990 in Atlantic City after offering himself as her mentor.

In addition to the drug and rape accusation, Benard also revealed in the lawsuit that she was subjected to physical assault and emotional distress.
According to the documents obtained by Law and Crime, the accuser is demanding nothing less than $25 million on the core accusations and $125 million in damages.
In a press conference held on October 14, Bernard made it known that she had a long time to pursue her case in court. Furthermore, the actress revealed that she was ready to be heard and to hold Cosby accountable for what he did to her.
Although the alleged incident occurred years ago, Benard said she still lived with the shame, fear, and pain that came with it every day of her life. The lawsuit also gave a detailed explanation of the steps the comedian took to cast himself as a career resource before the alleged assault.
SURPRISING DETAILS OF THE FILED COMPLAINT
The complaint noted that Cosby began mentoring Bernard by running theatrical exercises with her, where he began asking detailed questions about her life in July 1990.
At one point during one of the sessions where Cosby was said to have been teaching the accuser how to breathe, Bernard alleged that the actor grabbed her breasts without her permission.
After the acclaimed incident, the document made it known that Bernard confronted Cosby about his actions; however, he acted like he was innocent and was insulted by the actress's confrontation.
The following month, the author invited Bernard to Atlantic City for a proposed meeting with an acclaimed producer in order to help take the actress's career to the next level.
Bernard claimed Cosby prepared a non-alcoholic drink for her in his hotel room in Trump Taj Mahal upon arrival at the supposed location. After gulping the drink, the actress began to feel dizzy, weak, and nauseous.
According to the information, Bernard soon began dropping in and out of consciousness. After she woke up, the comedian allegedly tried to take off her clothes. However, she gave a negative reply to his advances.
Despite her stance, Cosby paid no attention, and after that, Bernard lost consciousness again. The document stated that on awakening, Bernard found herself being assaulted by the comedian.
Bernard alleged that she lost consciousness again and later woke up alone in an empty bathtub, still dizzy and unable to move. She battled with consciousness, and when she woke up again, Bernard was naked on a bed.
MORE ABOUT THE SEXUAL ASSAULT CLAIMS
According to Bernard, Cosby quickly dressed her and gave her money. After the alleged sexual assault took place, Bernard revealed the comedian tried to intimidate her. He threatened to sue the actress and wreck her career if she reported to the police.
The combination of the assault and subsequent intimidation caused lasting harm to the actress. Cosby's team has vowed that he will fight all allegations leveled against him.
According to the comedian's spokesperson, Andrew Wyatt, Bernard's accusations were another attempt to take advantage of the legal process. Wyatt said the actress never provided evidence or proof of her claims; hence, the allegations were false.
Cosby is ready to take his fight to the highest court in the United States of America. The whole world awaits the court's verdict and the overall turnout of events.
BILL COSBY'S RELEASE FROM PRISON
On Wednesday, June 30, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned Cosby's sexual assault conviction because the decision to charge him was an affront to fundamental fairness, and his due process rights were violated.
The comedian had served two years out of his three to a ten-year sentence in 2018. His conviction was on three felony counts of aggravated indecent assault of drugging and assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004.
Upon the actor's release, Wyatt appreciated his legal team and the Supreme Court. He described the court's ruling as a moment of justice for Black Americans. At the time, his representative revealed that the star was happy to go home, noting that it was a blessing for him.
COSBY'S THOUGHTS ON HIS RELEASE
A few days after he was released, Cosby mentioned that he was working on a documentary with Michelle Major about his case. According to the "The Cosby Show" star, the documentary was almost complete and set to be produced by Lionsgate Entertainment.
In addition to the documentary, Cosby said he would probably participate in a book about his story. However, he was unsure if he would write it.
Cosby planned to return to the stage and help support people who had been falsely accused in court, wrongly tried, and convicted.
However, with the new sexual assault accusations making the rounds, the comedian's plans of returning to the stage may likely be put on hold.
