T.R. Knight Photographed on 'Grey's Anatomy' Set with Former Co-stars after Sudden Return Last Season
A recent appearance on the ABC medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" set left fans wondering whether their favorite star, T. R. Knight, will be returning to the show.
On December 3, the show's star James Pickens posted a photo with costar Chandra Wilson and recurring guest star Kate Walsh. Joining them in the photo was the former star, T. R. Knight.
The photo raised fans' curiosity on whether Knight was returning to the show after his departure in 2009. Fans were excited at the possibility of having him back.

Comments under the post showed just how much his fans missed him. However, People later confirmed that the hype was all for nothing. Knight was only barely visiting his former costars on set.
STARTING AT "GREY'S ANATOMY"
Knight, who played George O'Malley, was one of the first five interns to join the show. He started at the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital.

O'Malley worked his way up to the residential level, forming relationships with his costars Meredith Grey, Cristina Yang, Izzie Stevens, and Alex Karev. These relationships would become a central focus of the show.
However, one of the most memorable relationships on-set was his marriage to Callie Torres, from whom he later separated to pursue a relationship with Stevens.
Knight left the show following the death of his character in season 5. O'Malley died during surgery after sacrificing his life to save a woman from being hit by a bus.
KNIGHT RETURNS TO THE SHOW
It is, however, not the first time that Knight returns to the show. Last season, Knight shocked his fans when he appeared in a dream sequence with Meredith Grey, Ellen Pompeo's character, as she fought the novel coronavirus.
Krista Vernoff, the showrunner, disclosed that when the opportunity arose to reintroduce familiar faces, O.Malley was the first character she thought of bringing back.
She shared that the image of Meredith and O'Malley together at the beach is what seemed intriguing, hence the dream.
After his 2020 appearance, he shared his love for the show's cast on his Instagram, thanking them for sharing their "beautiful light."
Following his departure, the actor opened up, saying that for years, he and the creator of the show Shonda Rhimes had had a "gradual breakdown of communication."
Away from "Grey's Anatomy," Knight continues to appear in other movies and TV series, including "Will & Grace," "The Comey Rule," and "The Flight Attendant," among many others.
