Lenny Kravitz Was Always Close to Ex Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa despite ‘Tremendous Pain’ after Break Up
Lenny Kravitz is one of Hollywood's musical icons whose career peaked in the late '80s. However, his relationship with Lisa Bonet is one of the standout moments of his life.
57-year-old Lenny Kravitz is best known for some of his works, including "Let Love Rule," "Mama Said," and "Are You Gonna Go My Way." The Grammy award-winning rock star has also featured in movies such as "Precious" and "The Hunger Games."
The movie star was born Leonard Albert Kravitz to an interracial couple in 1964; his mother, Roxie Roker, was an African-American actress, while his father was Jewish.

Kravitz came from a rich family. His father was a television producer, while his mother was a cast member of the sitcom "The Jeffersons." However, growing up for Kravitz had a tough ordeal as he dealt with discriminatory remarks.
He later developed a love for music due to the exposure he got from his mother's career. While he was still an unknown singer, he met and fell in love with Lisa Bonet. Their romance was one of the defining moments of his life.

THEIR BUDDING ROMANCE
Bonet and Kravitz met backstage at a New Edition concert in California. At the time, she was dating a singer, and aside from having a famous mother, Kravitz was a nobody.
Their bond began after Kravitz walked up to Bonet and admired her hair. In return, she told him she liked his hair too. Coincidentally, they met each other at a jazz festival the next day and became friends.

Over time, they became good friends, and even though they were seeing other people, they moved in together, and some years later, got married and welcomed their daughter.
Their relationship really impacted Kravitz as he credited Bonet with helping his music. Despite being called "Mr. Bonet" at some point, the 57-year-old said it did not matter to him as he was so much in love with the actress.
THE SPLIT
Bonet and Kravitz were one of Hollywood's most popular couples back in the day. The duo were so deeply in love that they overcame all odds, eloped, and even had a daughter together in 1988. Their relationship, however, eventually ended in 1991, and they divorced in 1993.
The breakup was a difficult experience for Kravitz. According to him, it caused him so much pain that he could not sleep for more than two hours for six months. The pain he felt led him to create his second album.
Speaking on why they fell apart, the rock star blamed his youthfulness, stating that he felt he was too young at the time and was not ready. Also, Kravitz blamed the emotional burdens he faced at the time, coping with the deaths in his family.
A UNITED FRONT
Although things failed to work between them, Kravitz and Bonet worked on remaining friends and still shared a strong bond. Although it may appear unusual, Kravitz revealed that he is close friends with Bonet and her now-ex-husband Jason Momoa.
The rock star once quipped that people find it difficult to comprehend how close he is with the "Aquaman" star and his ex-wife and how well they all get along.
Kravitz added that, even though it took some time and effort after his divorce, he felt a connection with Momoa the minute he met him. In an interview, he stated that he believes in letting love rule and holding no grudges.
During Momoa's birthday, Kravitz also posted a photo on social media where he called him "family." The 57-year-old expressed his delight at being called "uncle" by Bonet and Momoa's two kids. After almost a decade of dating, the energetic actor and Bonet tied the knot in 2017.
The "Justice League" actor has also reciprocated Kravitz's joy of being a united family. He once shared a black-and-white photo of himself and Kravitz wearing bone skull rings, explaining that he gifted one to the musician.

LISA BONET AND JASON'S ROMANCE
Lisa Bonet and Momoa share a long history. The 54-year-old "High Fidelity" actress met Momoa for the first time in 2004 at a jazz club. The actor once confessed that he had a childhood crush on Bonet and had vowed to make her his.
After meeting in 2004, although Bonet did not describe the moment as love at first sight, she confessed that they never parted ways. Instead, the duo went on to date and started a family together. The couple share kids Lola Iolani, 14, and Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha, 13.
In the years they were married, Momoa was a completely domesticated family man, dedicated to the lady in his life and their children. Unlike the forbidding, merciless, shirt-averse warrior he played in "Game of Thrones."

Bonet found her younger partner interesting despite the 10-year age gap between them. According to the actress, Momoa was confident and supportive and was also an amazing father. The actor was said to have enjoyed spending more time with his kids, hoping to be a strong part of their formative years.
THEIR DIVORCE
Bonet and Momoa recently shared the news of their divorce in a joint statement they released earlier this week. The couple said they were making the news public not because it was newsworthy but for the sake of their integrity.
The former couple also assured fans of their commitment to their families as they live their separate lives. No reason was cited as the cause of their divorce, but fans were quick to wish the couple well; however, they were saddened by the news.

Some fans also took a moment to suggest a possible comeback between Bonet and her former flame, Kravitz, seeing the respectable friendship they have shared over the years.
Since his 1993 split from Bonet, Kravitz has remained unmarried, although he has been in a couple of high-profile relationships. There has been no further comment on either party, but Bonet and Momoa want their fans to respect their privacy as they go through their split.
