HOW SERENA'S HOME CAME TO BE

Since 1998, Serena and Venus have lived together on and off in a Palm Beach Gardens property they co-owned. Then, Serena split her time between secondary homes from Bel-Air to Paris.

Eventually, she bought a breathtaking waterfront property north of Miami. Fortunately, the new property was located a few minutes away from Venus's home and that of their parents.

After buying her new home, Serena enlisted Venus and her world-class design firm V Starr to help her design the property to her taste. She told Architectural Digest:

"I was moving away from Venus for the first time in my life, so I wanted it to be really meaningful."

Serena understands that it can be risky to mix family with business but shared the secret to her and Venus's success as siblings and creative collaborators. She said:

"You have to know your lane. I'm really good at playing tennis; I'm not as good at interiors. But I was able to learn through just watching Venus."

Venus treated her sister like any other client and catered to her vision. That vision underwent a complete turnaround during the design process.

After buying the property, Serena ditched her traditional tastes for a more modern, minimalistic aesthetic, which she credited to her love for modern art and technology.

Another thing that influenced the design process was her burgeoning romance with Alexis, whom she started dating after the renovation.

FEATURES OF SERENA'S HOME

Serena took Architectural Design on a private tour of her newly renovated home in February 2021. The tour began with her art gallery, which the tennis star explained was initially meant to be a living room.

Serena explained that most homes have a formal living room, but she did not want one. She said she loves art and all kinds of artists and finds it cool.

Like his famously successful wife, Alexis is a successful tech entrepreneur and best-selling author.

Thus, she wondered if she could have a formal living room that would be an art gallery rather than a living room. Serena showed off her favorite artworks, including one she designed herself. She said:

"I do art. I paint, and I'm really kind of artsy, so this is a really cool piece."

Afterward, Serena took the cameras to her incredible trophy room. She showed off some of her trophies and cool pieces that mean so much to her – including a Wheaties box.

The trophy room also houses Serena's Wimbledon awards, including one smaller and one bigger trophy. While showing off the trophies, she explained:

"When you first win Wimbledon, you get like a small trophy, and then when it had been four or five years since I last won, I understood that they had moved it to the bigger one."

Serena displayed her competitive side during the tour of her trophy room. She sighted a second-place trophy and said she would put it in the trash because second-place trophies have no place in the trophy room.

Besides the art gallery and trophy room, Serena's home, which fans compared to a museum, also has other impressive features.

One of these features is her daughter's bedroom, which includes a pink custom-designed castle bed with a built-in slide and unique chandelier.

Serena revealed that Olympia loves going down the slide every night, which has caused her and Alexis to rethink adding it to her bed as their daughter enjoys sliding when it is her bedtime.

Other standout features in Serena's home include bathrooms with heated floors, a sauna in the gym, a huge-sized wine cellar, and an expansive terrace overlooking an infinity pool with submerged chaise lounges.

The property also features a tennis court. She explained that she wanted to separate home from work as she loves being home but added:

"When you have our job, you never get time to relax. So it's good for me to be able to sit still and not do anything."

Serena also has a 620-square-foot closet fashioned after a luxe retail space. Her kitchen also features the finest appliances. Another awesome home feature is the karaoke room just off her gallery and behind a doorway disguised as a bookshelf.

The karaoke room features a small stage, plush aquamarine velvet banquette, and a foliage framing neon sign that reads, "Sérénade," in tribute to the tennis star's karaoke persona.

Serena loves music and showed that when she shared a playful TikTok video of her playing the piano in her home. She captioned the video:

"Ending the week on a high note 🎹😄."

A HAPPY HOME AND FAMILY

While Serena's home is undoubtedly beautiful, she loves nothing more than spending time inside it with her husband and daughter.

Like his famously successful wife, Alexis is a successful tech entrepreneur and best-selling author. As of June last year, he was reportedly worth $70 million.

Meanwhile, Olympia, besides being Serena's precious daughter, is also her best friend. The mother-daughter duo has multiple times wowed fans with their shenanigans on social media.

When they are not twinning, the pair are playing tennis together, feeding the chickens, or just having fun together. Serena once described becoming a mother as her biggest win.

Alexis's loving wife might be a close second to that, which all adds up to a happy family. Thankfully, they have just the perfect home to live in.
