Once Markle became a topic for the press, Harry stepped in and issued a furious statement in her defense. This move made some people criticize him while others hailed his courage.
There were claims that Harry demanded that his office condemn the excesses of the media because he was panicking and afraid that Markle would break up with him.

A source said because the palace was not doing anything to support Markle, Harry had to step in. Another source revealed that Harry said,
"She's going to dump me."
Even though his statement was an unusual palace practice, and Buckingham Palace and Clarence House were unhappy about it, Harry's fears came from his experience with the press in previous relationships.

When he dated Chelsy Davy, the media attempted to access her medical records to investigate if she had any sexually transmitted disease.
In addition, the press coverage of the Royal family, especially when Prince William and Catherine Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, went on tour with their baby, Prince George, led to his breakup with Cressida Bonas.
Bonas was utterly shocked and said she never wanted that sort of attention. Harry failed to convince Bonas that they could make it work, which ended their relationship.
BEFORE AND AFTER CRESSIDA BONAS'S RELATIONSHIP WITH PRINCE HARRY
Bonas and Harry met in 2012 after Princess Eugenie introduced them. Their connection was instantaneous, and they started dating.
Months later, Harry's nude photographs made the press. Bonas wanted to end their relationship because of the humiliation. Shortly after, he was deployed to Afghanistan, leaving their relationship in balance.
Even though Harry asked Bonas to wait for him, she hated all the press attention associated with dating him. After dating for two years, Bonas called off the relationship.

On July 27, 2020, Bonas married the estate agent Harry Wentworth-Stanley, son of the Marchioness of Milford Haven, in a low-key ceremony at the exclusive Cowdray Park, in Midhurst, West Sussex.
For Bonas, their lockdown wedding meant not celebrating the moment with all of their families and friends, but they made an imperfect moment perfect.
In August 2021, there were speculations that Bonas was pregnant after she posted a picture where she was perusing the children's section at the bookstore.

Davy and Harry met in Cape Town in 2004 and began an on-off relationship for seven years. She grew up in Zimbabwe, and their relationship raised eyebrows because she was an unexpected choice of romantic partner for Harry.
