Angela Lewis Gave Birth to Her Only Child While Filming 'Snowfall' - Look inside Her Motherhood
Balancing a successful career in Hollywood and a healthy family life is not always easy, and "Snowfall" star Angela Lewis knows it firsthand. Luckily, her life has evolved in "perfect order."
Even though Angela Lewis has been active in the entertainment industry since the late 2000s, she shot to stardom in 2017 after being cast as Aunt Louie in the FX crime drama series "Snowfall."
Lewis has been one of the main stars throughout the series' five seasons, and while most parents agree that having a child changed their lives, Lewis has a slightly different opinion.

The actress admitted that some aspects of her life and career happened in "divine, perfect order." Lewis' then-boyfriend, actor J. Mallory Cree, wanted to move to Los Angeles to have more opportunities for their acting careers.
Relocating was part of their wedding plan, so they moved to California after tying the knot in August 2014. Two years later, she was cast in "Snowfall." In 2019, their only daughter, Brooklyn, joined the family.
Angela Lewis' daughter taught her that things don't always go as planned. She wanted a "sacred and serene" natural water birth at a birthing center, but she gave birth at a hospital.
Still, Lewis wants other expectant moms, especially women of color, to understand that they have more options than they think. She encourages moms-to-be to get educated about available resources, adding that doulas are helpful choices.
Lewis has spent years spreading awareness about black women's issues when they have children. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, black women are three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than white women.
Lewis meditates to properly juggle everything in her life.
Angela Lewis pointed out that the health care system is "terrible." Hence, she focused on a more organic and holistic approach to her pregnancy, and she wants other expecting moms to have access to more information about giving birth.
The actress confessed she knew she wanted to be a mom early. Once she married Cree, she made some life changes to prepare for the baby, including going vegan.
Although becoming a mother changed Lewis' life, it was not a total shift. She described herself as a student of life who is constantly evolving, so Brooklyn "highlighted and reinforced" some things that were already burgeoning rather than changing her. She added:
"I want my daughter to be able to experience love from the inside exuding out. [Keeping myself lifted during these times is] the most important thing that I am experiencing now."
Lewis also meditates to properly juggle everything in her life as it helps her stay connected to every responsibility. The actress added that she tries to be very present with Brooklyn. However, as a working mom, she also focuses on her career.
Angela Lewis and her lookalike daughter make frequent appearances on her Instagram page, proving that they have a beautiful bond. What a lovely family!
